The drain in the beautifully tiled shower sadly smelt a bit. But I appreciate the property and drains are nearly 100 years old !!

Location and age/history. Safe & secure parking for my motorcycle the complex & huge metal gate

BEAUTIFUL hotel with amazing ambience and comfortable beds. Great location in Antigua.

There was a club close by and it was pretty loud in the bathroom. When we closed the door it wasn't overwhelming but it did make it a teeny bit hard to get to sleep with the bass pumping. Might have just been due to it being a Sunday night? Only the one person in our group who has a hard time sleeping anyway had an issue with it (hint - the person is me :)). Also, the free breakfast was basically just bread and fruit, which is ok, but all the other Guatemalan breakfasts on our trip had eggs so we were a little disappointed in that.

Location is GREAT! Walked from here to see everything in Antigua. They also had parking, which worked great because when we arrived we realized parking was difficult in town. This was the most expensive place we stayed on our trip but everyone kept saying how it was so worth it. The beds are REALLY comfortable and the bathroom looked brand new and totally up to date. Family room had plenty of space for 5 of us. Two sinks in the bathroom plus a mirror in the main room made it easy for us all to get ready. Walked in and immediately honestly were so excited we were staying there - the tiles on the ground in the courtyard and the many seating areas just really are so welcoming and we sat in the courtyard a few times - had a nice pleasant breeze and beautiful landscaping as well.

I love the old antique history feeling. It’s rare I have stayed elsewhere. Portal is to much for me, and location and price are the two things most people look at. I just live the home feeling and easy walk to all that matters to me Breakfast is always wonderful

It’s been my favorite since 2008 The Aurora is much better the. Staying in Guatemala City Hotels as I migrate each year back and forth from USA

    Nada.

Pretty hotel! The staff was super helpful and pleasant, especially Esmeralda. Comfy bed and good water pressure in the shower. Super clean. Plenty of storage for my clothes. Great (and necessary) air conditioning. An adorable parrot mascot hangs out to greet you. Easy walking to anywhere in the city or conveniently located to catch a tuktuk. Highly recommend! Hotel Aurora saved me last minute from my previous booking where they had no air conditioning and I couldn't sleep. Thank you!!!

The Continental Breakfast. I think that a full breakfast should be offered instead of Continental. Continental has very minimum choices (bread, coffee, and fruit). If you want to have a typical breakfast consisting of eggs, beans, cheese, and plaintins you have to pay. I did not like this at all.

Location wonderful, staff amazing, beautiful grounds and clean. Establishment well run and organized.

Tried to charge us for an extra breakfast item when we checked out, that we didn't have. Good job I checked the bill. I'm sure it was just an error though. When you open the window, it's directly into the street at ground level, so really you need them shut all the time. Wasn't really a problem though.

This was a lovely surprise! It's like a little paradise as you walk in. It's a very central location, yet somehow their windows are completely sound proof. Very impressive! Breakfast was nice. Aircon works. Room is very comfy. Very well done and a comfy bed. A proper hotel. Ironing board and all facilities needed. We would stay again.

Nothing was an issue for either of us.

Excellent location in Antigua, convenient to walk everywhere or take the tuk tuk. The breakfast snack was perfect for a start to the day, which included fresh fruit, bread, drink and probably more. We started our day before breakfast and they accommodated by packing a to go bag. The hotel is one of the best in the area. They even upgraded our room to a junior suite at no extra cost. The room was large and air conditioned, quiet and private. You gent a beautiful courtyard and private lounging area outside of the room. Wi-Fi was incredibly strong and reliable. Television accessed channels and streaming.

Breakfast was nothing extraordinary, could improve somehow.

Location couldn’t be better and the most amazing night, soundproof windows and all the charm of a historical manor. Initially booked a room with one bed but ended up in room 20! 2 huge beds and the loveliest bathroom you could expect. Will be back.

The Hotel Aurora is now my 1st choice for my next stay in La Antigua
    • Leisure trip

There is a lot of noise from the street, pedestrians and car traffic on the cobblestones

LOCATION: The Aurora offers an excellent location near the main plaza. The rooms are set around a tranquil courtyard with well cared for roses. Our large room and bathroom were very clean. We stayed in number 7, a front facing room with a King sized bed (as requested) but there was a lot of noise from the street. If bed size is not an issue, you might want to ask for a room towards the rear. BREAKFAST: In the mornings an excellent continental breakfast buffet with plenty of fresh fruit and bread/pastries is included, and served in the spacious dining room. Eggs are available for extra charge. STAFF: The staff was friendly, professional and accommodating. The hotel provided us with a driver to go back/forth from the bus stop in Guatemala City. This is now my 1st choice for my next stay in La Antigua.

The shower leaked water a tad bit.

The Oldest operating Hotel in Antigua did not disappoint. The room was clean, hot water and peaceful inner environment. Lovely courtyard and very good continental breakfast. If you crave a stronger coffee drink , Fat Cat coffee house is steps away. Plus some of the choicest shops and landmark commercial establishments. This was our fourth trip to Antigua and I must say the best hotel we have stayed at for $100 price range. Plus the room was quiet and I must give a shout out to the beautiful antiques and original elements including the stunning cement decorative tiles that are all the rage in modern decor.
