Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIf I had to nitpick anything, it would be the lobby was a bit dated, but as I said, I’d be nitpicking.
Loved pretty much everything. First, the location was great, just a 6-7 min walk to the beach and all the restaurants on Agios Prokopios. The included breakfast had a ton of choices, hot and cold, sweet and savory. Staff was incredibly attentive. Helped with finding a rental car, restaurant and beach club recommendations as well as tips for places to see on the island.

United StatesOur room was the honeymoon suite with private indoor hot tub. I was quite disappointed with the hot tub because we were unable to get sufficient hot water throughout the stay. We asked for this to be fixed and they sent someone to help right away. He checked the situation and followed up. We were able to get a little more hot water, but ultimately, we still did not have enough to really enjoy it. Despite this, our room was lovely and we have no other complaints!
Our 4 night visit was for our honeymoon and we were very pleased with this lovely hotel!! The staff were attentive, the environment comfortable and clean, and we loved our room with panorama view of the water from our balcony! The pool was very nice and clean, the physical space throughout the hotel was very pleasing, and the food was very good! We absolutely plan to return and highly recommend this establishment!

United StatesThe location of Lagos Mare is perfect within walking distance to great restaurants and of course the wonderful beach of Agios Prokopios. If you rent a car, you can easily visit Naxos Town to watch the sunset and enjoy a nice dinner as well as drive to the quaint villages and other gorgeous beaches of Naxos. The hotel is lovely. The full American breakfast is excellent and you must try their restaurant 1924 for lunch or dinner. The ambiance is wonderful and the food is delicious Naxian cuisine! Well worth it!

RomaniaA few things can be improved. 1) The hotel is indeed at a higher elevation than the sea and is at the furthest extremety of the city (at the first bus stop), so there is a walk of about 5 minutes in order to reach the beach area. The walk is nice, but can be too long for some people that want direct/quick access. 2) While the general areas are well taken care of, some of the individual rooms need improvement (broken doors, handles, wifi dongle hanging off the wall, bedpost lamps not cleaned for months). 3) The breakfast is great, is plentiful BUT it is very confusing for the general public. For example, you get offered free juice or coffee/cappucino/americano but only if you go and ask. Also, you get with your breakfast cooked eggs in various forms but only if you go and ask the bartender. There is a leaflet there next to the other food at the breakfast serving area, but if you don't know about it then you assume that it is just part of the decor. In the leaflet it is said that for juice and for cooked warm food you have to ask (which is very fine to do this, so there is not a lot of leftover food) but they should put some signs next to the food so more people take notice of the offer. Like a big sign saying "For juice/coffee/cooked eggs ask us!" or something similar. We figured it out, but in our stay we were amused as to how many fist-time-visitors didn't figure it out in their first day of visit and just left there unhappy. They can easily fix this for the next summer(s) by personally checking the rooms and doing the necessary reparations and improve the breakfast area to make it more clear as to what you can eat.
Visited in August 2021, stayed in a standard room above the Reception area. The room was spacious, the area was quiet. The hotel is built in great taste and is up-to-date with the design. The patio was well groomed, the grass green and taken care of, the general area was very clean and all the staff was very cordial and offered great vibes. The cooked food is very tasty! The hotel has a personal parking space and is directly at a bus stop (which bears the hotel name), the first one in Agios Prokopios. It is a very beautiful hotel and I would totally recommend it for the amazing feel.
