How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

It didn't feel very secure, which wasn't a big problem but I carried my valuables with me when out and about rather than leaving in the room.
Could not find a friendlier host, she was very welcoming! Rooms basic, spacious and comfortable. Great for a night's stay.

Bathroom is dated
The location is very good with the beach literally around the corner, there is also an excellent cafe by this beach which we highly recommend, close to everything.

Location, right by the beach, spotless apartment- cleaned every day. Parking round the corner. Friendly & welcoming. Sea view from one of the rooms. Washing machine was a bonus.

No view but it didnt matter to us as we only slept there.Bathroom old fashioned but did the job.
Lovely lady owner very welcoming . Room clean and a good size. Great value for money.Beds comfy and made every day.,washing line and pegs provided. Close to pebble beach.

No WiFi signal in the upstairs rooms, a basic commodity that would have made our stay more comfortable, particularly as we were stuck inside due to stormy weather. The fridge also makes a lot of noise which affected our sleep a bit.
The staff here are really lovely, doing everything they can to make our stay a good one.

Bathroom and kitchen were quite small but for the price that was exactly what we were prepared for and expected.
Great location and the room itself was cozy, clean and quiet! The view from the balcony was nice and the two ladies running the place were lovely.

The room didn't have a double bed but two twins put together with an added cushion, so not our first preference but still comfortable.
Our hostess was absolutely fantastic! She made our stay exceptional! Proper Greek hospitality! She gave advice about the town, beaches and eating out and kept our room neat and tidy with daily cleaning. The property was very close to the beach and a short walk from everything in the town. We enjoyed our stay immensely!

The wifi was constantly failing.
The apartment is great for a short stay and very well located. What truly stands out is the host who is super friendly, she would chat with us and give us tips and she also lent us a sunshade to take to the beach, which we then returned back to her when we checked out.

Some of the ground floor rooms faced directly onto the road with only a mini 1 metre terrace between the door and pavement
Very good value. Room size was modest but still adequate enough to include a bed, wardrobe, table and 2 chairs and cooker/fridge/sink unit kitted out with the basic requirements of plates etc. Our garden view balcony doubled up as the access to the room and was just big enough for a table and 2 chairs, but other rooms had larger balconies. Off road parking was a big bonus for central Paleochora where the roads are very narrow and crowded. The garden was a delightful smallish courtyard area well planted up and attractive.

Very close to the beach, breakfast at the Votsalo was just around the corner. The apartment was kept spotlessly clean by Katerina, who came in every day. Joanna, our host was very helpful and friendly

The beds and even the pillows were very hard and I found them uncomfortable. The bathroom is outdated. We had a shared balcony and our neighbours were up early enjoying their coffee chatting away and listening to music which woke us up one morning.
The family room was spacious for myself and my partner. The room was clean and it was nice to have a little kitchen to make a cup of tea etc. The owner is such a lovely woman. Overall the accomidation was fine.

The fridge was very noisy during the night.
Anna was super nice to us and welcomed us with a big smile! The room was clean and cleaned everyday (towels and sheets also).

the location is fantastic, two mins walk from the beach, and five minutes into the main town. the bus stop is nearby too. the property is spotlessly clean, and very well looked after by the owner. we loved our stay, and hope to be back!

Close to center but not too loud as it's on a side alley. The lady owner is very warm hearted and friendly, she was so enthusiastic to show and explain the room. Everything was neat and clean. Definitely recommend to stay here
