Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOnly very minor things could have been improved but I'm being picky because the standard was very high. These did not detract from our enjoyment... eg there didn't seem to be an extractor fan in the shower. Two pillows each would be more comfortable for us but one is common not unusual to find. The Netflix service stopped working on our last evening...had we stayed longer I would have spoken to the staff to resolve it.
The view was outstanding the space was generous, good sized and clean shared kitchen. Staff at the hotel arranged taxis for us when we ate in the hotel restaurant which really helped, as well as transfers to and from the airport. The staff at the hotel worked very hard and were lovely. I wished we had longer to enjoy this beautiful apartment even more and to have sat outside on the balcony. It's a short walk into the town of Ilulissat and benefits from its remarkable vantage point. I was very happy with our stay here.

United Statesthe condition of these apartments aren’t great but I expected that. what was weird was that there seem to be full time, long term renters there. these are usually short term so I’m not sure what’s going on there. kitchen doesn’t have an oven but maybe you can go elsewhere for it?
location is great and price is very budget friendly. I prefer this accommodation over all others in town. operated by Hotel Icefiord and Topas. I will continue to stay here in the future. it meets my needs but it isn’t for everyone. the hotel is very basic at best but the Wi-Fi is good and you’re steps from grocery stores, restaurants, and the meeting place for tours. are the apartments ratty? yes. do I care? no.

United KingdomNo shuttle included to take you to hotel if you book to eat at their restaurant. Staff not so friendly when face to face.
It is basic, expensive but hey, you're in Greenland, you will pay over the price for just basic standards. Staff are very responsive via the booking app. It is a good location near town. Airport pick up and drop off included.

PolandThe check in is possible only at reception desk of the Hotel Icefiord which is about 20 minutes walk away of Icefiord Apartments. It's also not easy to find this hotel without map and Internet, as there's no information about in the yard or wall of the apartments. Please keep it in mind before arriving straight to apartments on your own.
The studio is small but comfortable enough. The place was clean and silent. The big asset is location, in the very center of Ilulissat, with restaurants and shops around. Just few minutes walk of ferry harbour. The team from hotel maintaining theses apartments is very helpful.

DenmarkThe shared kitchen was very poorly equipped. Not really enough cooking equipment for having 4 different groups of people using it. e.g. more than one pot or fry pan or utensil. We had to wash things everytime before cooking as they were just left in the dishwasher and not started. Also, if you are providing a shared kitchen facility I would suggest complementary basic provisions should be included like salt and pepper, oil, milk, coffee for the coffee maker, so that people don't have to buy it and then leave 75% unused.
The delux apartment deck was really nice. Good size rooms. Not too far from centre of town. Close to the harbour for tours and boat shuttles.

United KingdomIt might be of some minor issue if you want to contact the reception in case something went wrong. E.g. The driver was late for 10min+ for the airport drop off service. And somehow the phone of the hotel cannot get through. So I have to run all the way from the apartment to the hotel to check. Luckily the staff are super nice and booked a taxi for me.
I stayed in their hotels for two days and moved to the apartment for another two nights due to tight budget. The room is basic of course, but it is clean and in the center of the town. Really convenient. So I would recommend those who don’t want to spend so much money on the accommodations.

GermanyThe only thing that could be better is the shower, after a few minutes the bathroom is getting flooded.
Apartements are really cozy so if nature in Greenland wasn`t so nice I could have stayed there more time. Kitchen was equipped well beyond my expectations, so everything available incl. salt and even coffee filters. It´s close to some supermarkets and various other shops, restaurants, cafes and maybe a 20min walk to the harbour. Getting the key is not an issue, the shuttle from the airport would take you to reception at Hotel Icefiord and afterwards to the apartements, which is a 15-20 min walk away. Would stay there again when at Ilulissat for the next time.

PolandI stayed 3 days in the apartments in the centre (not the Deluxe ones which are not in the centre). Everything was fine! Reception is in the hotel in different part of the city, but there are drivers that will take you there and back at arrival and departure. Transfers from/to the airport are also included in the price. You can store lugagge at the main hotel with reception if neccesary. I've been in Ilulissat in February and despite temperatures around -20/-30C the apartment was perfectly warm with hot shower. Location is really perfect - it is about 300 meters from the centre and 400m from 2 main supermarkets in the city. Fine Thai restaurant is only 100m way. Before my travel I read in the earlier opinions about some problems with WiFi. In my case WiFi worked perfect, the connection was fast all the time. Once I spent 2 hours on online video meeting at work - there was no problem with that!

GermanyWe had to be driven to Icefiord Hotel first where we were told that our apartment is not ready yet. It was already after 2pm :-( We had to wait at least another hour. The apartments have the worst Wifi connection ever. Only outside you can connect and it is weak and slow. No wifi connection inside the apartment. If you need to work, it is a no go. Cannot imagine what we would have done in the winter. Staff is responsive but does not make any extra effort such as a price reduction or a drink on the house for the extra waiting time at check-in or the bad wifi.
You have your own little apartment with bedroom and small kitchen included and a bathroom in the centre of Ilulissat. Icefiord Staff picked us up at the airport. Nice shower !
