Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwedenThe street next to the hotel got pretty loud on Friday/Saturday night (I stayed during the Easter weekend, so I'm not sure if it's the case during other non-holiday periods) and it was a bit hard to find sleep - but that is not something the hotel can necessarily do anything about and I get that. Maybe other rooms were quieter. There were occasionally some tiny cockroaches in the bathroom but I had my own bug spray and it was all fine (none in the bedroom though).
Accra is expensive and this is the only place that I found with value for money. Part of it is a hostel but I got a private room and it worked great for me. The room was very clean, with a private bathroom, and a terrace. The private room is equipped with an AC and a ceiling fan so even if it was very a warm season, I was always very comfortable in my room. Staff was always very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are great. There's a bar by the pool and it's just nice to chill there on a warm evening. The hotel is located slightly outside the city center but it was perfect for me as I wanted to see more than just the busy center of Accra. Everything is very easily accessible from the hotel with an uber. If you are worried about mosquitoes, I didn't have any issues with them at any point of my stay at the hotel.

United KingdomThe air-conditioning in the dorm wasn't working and so it was very very hot to sleep. For this price we paid that was disappointing.
The breakfast was fantastic. Lovely social area, the bedrooms have lockers where you can lock up your belongings. Each bed has a plug and a private light. Curtains for privacy. Fresh filtered water.

ColombiaIt's located in an area that is not very tourist, but you can move around easily on Uber. The breakfast is ok, but I would have appreciated more variety of fruits and a plant-based milk.
I hadn't stayed in a hostel dorm for over a decade. Doing it in Somewhere Nice was a great decision. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and the best is to go to the common areas to meet new people. I would go back again.

NetherlandsPrices for accommodation are quite high in Accra in general, we splurged for a night in Somewhere Nice and unfortunately had a room with malfunctioning air con. Lounge beds at the pool would be very welcome!
Very comfortable beds and showers. Clean linen and African black soap provided. Good coffee & nice breakfast.

BrazilThe common areas are not that big and specially during weekends becomes too small with so many guests. I also didnt like that you have to pay for the towel. You pay 40 cedis in advance and at the checkout, you get 30 cedis back. Be attentive to get it back by the end of your stay ;)
Breakfast and beds are quite okay.

PolandThe location is not very interesting, not much to see and do within walking distance (apart from local daily life;). You need to take a cab/uber to get anywhere. But we just stayed there for one night after arrival and it was perfect for this purpose.
This is a great hostel, it has a bar with a big choice of alco drinks and also there's a lady cook who can prepare various meals. There's a swimming pool and people hang out around it. Staff was very helpful with any questions we had, the room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was good with quite a good choice for Ghana (pancakes, eggs, fruit, peanut butter etc)
