This is being picky but the only negative I would say, is need to update the rooms. We stayed in what is classed as a deluxe room. But the bathroom had some mouldy peeling grout around the bath and toilet area. The decoration could be better too. Like I say I am being picky, other than this, it’s a very lovely place and I would definitely stay again.

Situated in stunning surroundings. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing, one of the best breakfasts. Really nice cosy bar area.

The room was a little hot, and opening the windows meant noisy traffic or smells from the outside system. It would also have been nice to have water in the room. However, this would not put me off, as everything else was great, and I would definitely book to come here again.

The food at both breakfast and evening meal where excellent. The team bar/reception/cleaners/waiters were all fabulous. The bed was so comfortable. Nice to have biscuits in room as well as nice table and chairs.

A grab rail in the shower would have been helpful as we are both seniors. The creaky floor from the room above disturbed us.

The hotel needs updating, decor was timeworn and drab. we were first allocated a side annex room which had old furniture, textured ceiling finish and the only window largely obscured by furniture so very gloomy. We asked to be moved and we were moved without argument to the main building where the room was better but still dated.

Furniture looked tired against the redecorated room and refitted bathroom. As we had a dog with us, we had to have breakfast in an area used as a walk through by other guests rather than the restaurant. The area was chilly and poorly lit. With people constantly walking through it was difficult to have the dog settle.

Staff were really friendly and professional. Refitted bathroom and walk in shower. Space in the room for table and 2 chairs.Dog friendly, with access to a large area in the bar. Comfortable bed. Nice breakfast.

My husband thought the bed was hard but I felt it was comfortable.

The staff were lovely. The room was good. The view from the window was pleasant. The menu was varied and interesting. My husband really liked the offer of choices in the cheese board.

Bathrooms need updating

Very friendly check in with Tasha on reception she was excellent. Good value menu with plenty of choice and good wine list . Dining staff very friendly , helpful and professional nothing too much trouble. Bedroom good size with adequate teas, coffees etc , bathroom needed updated.

Dinner was very good and service excellent. At breakfast though the service was a little slow due to the large number of guests which attended breakfast at the same time 07.00am and only 1 waitress. This was only an issue as i had to get to work so was on limited time.

No toilet brush in the bathroom. Wi-Fi not so good in the bedroom. Lighting for doing hair and makeup in the bedroom not so good. No plug sockets near the bathroom which had the better lighting to do hair.

Full English breakfast was good, would have been better with more options. But that’s a personal opinion.

Our bed was very small. Seemed like it was a small double, as opposed to a double or a king.
