Food was not as good as we had hoped for. Some of the newer additions and decoration were not in keeping with a building of this age.

Great location, very nice room, quiet.

The breakfast and dinner were excellent! We also love the location. It is just in the middle of the town. The staffs were also very friendly and helpful. If you want to visit the Oundle School, this is the right place to stay. Very beautiful stay!

    Nothing really

The location is excellent - right in the centre of this lovely market town. We were upgraded to a suite which was much appreciated.. The large room was divided into two parts by an open partition in the original wooden frame. The building is 'full of character' and is not like any other hotel we have stayed in. The breakfast was very good indeed. The property was 'spotless' and the staff very helpful.

There was nothing that made me unhappy with the stay.

The hotel and staff were excellent as were the meals we ate there. Nothing was too much trouble, right down to providing a bucket and cloth to wash off Bird poo that was splattered over my car when I foolishly parked beneath the trees in the car park. Lesson Learnt!

Breakfast. Pre cooked reheated but served cold. Scrambled egg was hot the rest cold. awful soapy mushroom, black pudding waxy, tomato dried out where it had been cut in half. Beans almost fizzing nasty taste, frozen bread for toast dried out. Not sure where the fruit salad originated from possibly a tin. Bacon dried out fat not cooked. All in all very unpleasant.

    Room location staff.

A comfortable stay in nice surroundings.

We would have preferred a later breakfast. The staff didn't get my order right (forgot my eggs), no one came to check on us. We had to keep asking for cutlery, sauces etc. We came down 15 minutes before breakfast ended & it seemed they were getting ready for the next big meals? It was a shame. No one came to ask how things were or if we needed anything but we sorted ourselves out & did get what we needed anyway. So no harm done! It was difficult to get through to a real person when dialling the hotel number (we were only up the road at family's), so found it easier to actually turn up in person! But even when we came in person, no one was manning reception (no bell to ring for attention). We had to go to the restaurant opposite to get someone's attention.

The bed was very comfortable & we loved our tea and coffee making facilities plus lovely shower gels etc in the bathroom. Liked our radio too! Your lovely member of staff rang us to say we'd forgotten headphones in room so we came to pick them up. Was very kind. Thank you.

Because of the nature and age of the building many areas quite hard work for the less mobile.

Very well organised operation. Put on a great wedding and coped effectively with large numbers. Unexpectedly good food and energetic happy service too.
