Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe didn’t have breakfast as we were self catering in the Annex, but there is plenty of kitchen equipment to cook your own food. As we were in the Annex we had full use of an enclosed garden, this was well secured and able to let our dogs have a wander. The garden is very pretty and peaceful with lots of seating areas, the living space and bedroom is all a very good size and comfortable. Gigi is a super host and on hand should you need anything. We would love to return one day.

United KingdomThere’s nothing not to like! The only downside were the slightly noisy other guests leaving at an early hour.
A warm welcome and we were upgraded on arrival. A big comfortable room with lots of little extras. The owner couldn’t have been more helpful with advice and suggestions. A super breakfast as well.

United KingdomMaybe more pillows on the bed? But it didn't affect my sleep so not a negative at all really
I've stayed a couple of times now and I absolutely love Orchard House. It's home from home vibes and care taken to detail make this one of the best places I have ever stayed. I always sleep like a log when im here, the beds are comfy and the sheets feel so soft...muat remember to ask how she does this. The food served at breakfast is absolutely delicious and highly personalised, which made me feel like a valued and cared for guest. Loved our chats and all the insightful and fascinating memorabilia from the home, village and wider area. Such a pleasure to stay here, thank you Gigi

United KingdomGigi was a fantastic host who provided us with plenty of information beforehand, not only about our accommodation but also the surrounding area. She sent us a list of suggested places to visit along with local good pubs, restaurants, shops, etc. which really helped us plan our trip. The rooms were large, comfortable, warm and quiet, and stocked with fresh milk for tea/coffee along with a choice of other drinks and small snacks. The views out of the back of the house over the garden and countryside were wonderful and only the January weather prevented us from enjoying the garden more. Breakfast was delicious and well cooked, we certainly didn't go hungry, and nothing was too much trouble for our host.

United KingdomWow! Where to start! We were staying in the private annexe next to the B&B as we were travelling with our two small dogs. Owner Gigi quite obviously goes above and beyond for all her guests. It really is a home from home. Comfortable sofa and bed, lovely bathroom and kitchen - plus a beautiful garden that our dogs adored. Private parking behind electric gates was also a bonus. Gigi is a great host and we can’t wait to stay again!

United KingdomA warm welcome and very comfortable stay. Felt like a home from home. I really liked having the freedom to come and go during my stay at times that suited my schedule. Breakfasts were prepared with care and beautifully presented. I appreciated having lots of menu choices for breakfast and being able to choose what time I'd eat. I have a few dietary restrictions too and the owner was very accommodating. There is even a small fridge for residents to store their own drinks and snacks. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The bathroom was large and luxurious with very plush towels. Everything was high quality, right down to the beverage sachets provided in the room. The dog is very friendly and well-behaved. I got a bit lost trying to find the address in the dark, phoned the house and the owner helpfully guided me there. Lots of tourist info is provided for anyone new to the area, and the owner is happy to provide updates about local events.

United KingdomThis was the best most efficiently run B & B we have ever stayed at. Would totally recommend.
The village of Hanley Swan was perfectly located for both sightseeing in every direction and equally easy to access 2 lovely nearby pubs. Gigi was incredibly helpful pointing us in the right direction. The use of Gigi’s beautiful garden was most welcome to cool off in the evenings in the midst of unseasonably hot temperatures.
