A bit tired in terms of rooms, rather 1980 in design and feel. Our room was cosy😳

    Very friendly and helpful staff

Right on the sea front, staff were super nice and helpful. Traditional Breakfast choices were really great with tablecloths, napkins and silver! Strong WiFi. Rooms were dated but very clean. Liked the old lift. Stepping back in time.

Traffic noise from main road. Very small bathroom.

Friendly staff, old fashioned polite and friendly service. On direct and frequent bus route to town and other resorts.

As with my stay in June this year nothing as changed in the dining room at breakfast,if it wasn't for the headwaters it would be a mess,I was there for 4 mornings only one morning did I have to wait less then 10 mins to be served and it was not busy,I have now become accustomed to this.

We paid slightly more than the average customer and we got relegated into a very small and back room looking onto the Train line. No double glazing and therefore the train was loud although very quick to pass. A windows was cracked and generally the rest was run down.

The property its a 1820 built , It is a dive into the past and all that was glorious of the English heritage Riviera. Staff is really good and the food and beverage was well priced and the cuisine is up to par. I loved the environment and the atmosphere, Plenty of parking and all right onto the sea side.

The food was awful and expensive, the quality of food served (hot) was very poor but presented nicely. We were told tea and coffee was free but we’re billed at the end of our stay. The bar is very pricey. The hotel rooms are outdated and fairly small. We had to upgrade our room for another £80. The outdoor pool could use a heater.

The location was good for what we wanted, close to the sea and attractions. The swimming pool and hot tub were a nice touch, the hot tub was a lovely temperature, the pool however very cold as not heated. The staff were very polite, friendly and welcoming. Nothing was to much to ask. There is a little area of things to buy incase you’ve forgotten anything which is handy.

Bit more updating and cleaning needed around pool area, bit neglected , sun loungers and pads very shabby . Was expecting a possible gym and sauna experience but in another building behind kitchens area , unhygienic and not pleasant . Hotel itself pleasant but very close to busy road and railway line meaning our room with a view of the sea was also overlooking the very busy road with noisy traffic well into the night.

Beautiful old fashioned hotel full of character and charm . Wonderful architecture . Friendly helpful staff . Delicious breakfast.

Ducks and duck poop in the swimming pool, especially with local notices of prevalence of Avian Flu (my email about this was not responded to). Weeds around the pool. Some broken sun loungers (the first 3 I tried to lie on).

Public areas, eg dining room and bar, flowers, view from our room.

The pillows were different sizes and very hard which lead to a particularly uncomfortable nights sleep. I would suggest this hotel is definitely for the older generation as the average age of the clientele was about 80.

The location is lovely The hotel itself is very old fashioned but that adds to its charm. The staff were very friendly.
