Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyVery friendly and helpful personnel, and very accommodating of a weary, wet cyclist. They provided a secure and dry place for my bike. It was a relief to take a bath after riding all day in the rain, and there was plenty of hot water and towels in a clean bathroom. Had dinner in the restaurant and it was excellent; breakfast also good with fresh croissants, pains-au-chocolat and baguette.

United KingdomThese are minor issues but the next traveler needs to be aware. The shower hose leaked a lot from the hose to shower head connection, I did make lots of mess because of it. I raised the shower curtain pole so that the shower curtain was not under my feet while showering. I scraped both legs on the beds wooden frame on my first pass in the smallish room, the frame was covered by a bed cover so it was a surprise. No lasting damage done I must add. Just be aware.
The hotel is off the main highway A29 but very close to my appointment location. The hotel is set at the top of the market square and has parking on the road or in the nearby parking spaces of the market square. The room (4) was a little dated, basic but very quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable, I slept very well. The room had a nice little TV for watching regular channels. There was a shower over the bath, the shower was great with good pressure, unfortunately the shower hose leaked a lot and I made the bath towel on the floor quite wet!! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, I muddled through with my Frenglish and a translator app :-) They serve very good wholesome food inside and outside. The choice is limited but my starter smoked salmon & salad and main course Chicken pieces cooked in a white wine sauce with rice & side salad were very tasty. A good choice of beers on tap. Breakfast was a lovely continental assorted breads, croissants, coffee, tea, yogurts, cheese and ham. Great tasting coffee. They also do a great offer of a 3 course set lunch @ $13.90 you choose from 3 starters, mains and desserts. I thought it was great value. I will return and stay in the future.

United KingdomNo service, no bar, no restaurant, No-one else in the hotel and very basic rooms. Nothing at all to recommend about this hotel. Do not stay here - Booking.com should review / remove from its listings. As a minimum the absolute lack of facilities on. Sunday should be made entirely clear - there was nothing, literally nothing open in the location on Sunday afternoon.
Nothing at all. We drove for over 6 hours and on arrival the place was completely deserted ( late Sunday afternoon). There was a number to call which went only to a answering service, I messaged via booking .com as a back up, and called back some 15 minutes later. Eventually someone came to check us in giving us a key and pin code for the door access pad. They also confirmed the bar and restaurant was closed Sundays and that the only place to eat in town was a takeaway Kebab shop. The place was dark, very tired and rooms were very basic with no additional facilities for tea or coffee making, Not even a glass. We were spectacularly unimpressed and returned immediately to reception only to find the person who had checked us in had departed. I tried calling (answerphone again). So messaged again via Booking. Com to advise we had booked another hotel and had checked out. My worst ever experience via Booking..com

United KingdomThe reception at first suggest we had made a mistake and arrived on the wrong day - we had not. At dinner in the evening, staff tried to serve us slice white bread hastily toasted when we asked for more bread to go with our cheese course.
Not much.
