Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRestaurant was expensive. When I arrived I was told the only menu for the next two days was 66 euros per night.
Very big hotel in a very small hamlet. Very helpful staff and good restaurant.

United KingdomVery basic room with vinyl flooring everywhere. The ‘over the bath’ shower was very difficult to get into, and out of, and the shower screen did not seal properly so we were paddling in water. We arrived at the dining room on time at 19:30 and we were offered a table outside of the main dining room, even though there were plenty of available tables in the dining room. We both felt like the ‘naughty children’.
The restaurant staff were very friendly and attentive. The meal was good if somewhat expensive.

United KingdomThere are different levels and quite long distances the hotel and with luggage it could be difficult… so make sure you ask for a room on the same level as the parking. There was a service door next to our room which made 3 banging sounds when closing. Sound insulation from the corridors not good. Fortunately neither of these continued late into the evening. The corridors are definitely due an upgrade, but the rest of the hotel is great.
The staff were great - very friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean and bed comfortable. The restaurant was excellent. Good food and service. My steak ( which I eat occasionally ) was delicious.

United KingdomFeels a bit dated and in need of a refurb. The rooms we had did have a slight smell. Quite sprawling. Restaurant quite expensive so ate locally
Good location and pool, ideal for champagne tours. Helpful staff.

FranceWe were given a room over in the 'annex' across the road! Not really so useful for dropping into the pool - one of the main reasons we pick this hotel. Also, no towels or robes were available in the pool room - so we had to go ask at reception.
Fine dinning experience if limited choice. Attentive staff, even when a large group arrived at another table. [We are used to having to pour our own wine!] Staff were friendly if distracted. Breakfast was ... okay.

United KingdomThe breakfast room was very warm and the food was layer out well but as I went to pick something I saw that there were many flies on the food , so I just had a yogurt, then I was very disappointed with a “ vending machine” coffee .
The restaurant is out of this world , not cheap but worth every penny. Superb friendly staff make you feel comfortable. We didn’t have time to try any facilities as we only stayed the one night.

United KingdomWhile the indoor pool was a welcome bonus and well presented, I feel I should make a point about safety here. No depth markings in a pool that sloped suddenly down from about a meter to two meters over a very short distance, and quite slippery. I mention this particularly because we have previously witnessed the hazards of such a set up in the past. However, to end on a high note, we loved it!
Very well run hotel, with attentive and friendly staff. The restaurant was particularly good, although a little more than we would normally pay on an overnight stay, it was worth it. Eggs, bacon and sausage, along with all the usual continental options, for breakfast was very welcome. Air conditioning in a heatwave!

BelgiumThe facility could use with a decoration refresh. Overall, we are in the eighties. Some areas in the rooms and the hall are clearly worn out.
Nice, spacy rooms, some with a terrace with views to the garden. Restaurant serving pretty good food. Friendly, attentive staff. Excellent location when visiting the Champagne/Epernay area

United KingdomChampagne tasting menu in the restaurant, all 4 glasses the same champagne. Not what I call a degustation. Rather uninteresting village location.
Good value, for the champagne area, hotel and restaurant, with excellent food. Spacious room, if lacking a little charm, with a great bathroom with walk in shower.

GermanyGiven the location (rather off the beaten track) the price of the room is too high.

United KingdomA small difficulty finding and accessing the entrance to the car park at the rear of the hotel which is somewhat hidden. OK if you've visited before! Meal in restaurant was very good with additional amuse-bouche and palate-cleanser, but was on the expensive side.
Spacious quiet room with good bathroom with bath and height adjustable shower. Separate toilet. Really appreciated the tea-making facilities in the room. Restaurant room was a lovely space.

BelgiumWe were expecting a welcome drink or something equivalent. The breakfast was a bit expensive for what was included. I am personally not a big fan of industrial coffee.
we liked the place and the room, the restaurant and the champagne of course. Also the pet friendliness and free of charges. I liked the fitness room, pool and sauna. It was a real relaxing trip.

In the heart of champagne country, this hotel oozes class. Big rooms with comfortable beds and well-appointed bathrooms. Private parking out the back (go all the way past the hotel and almost out of the village to reach it). Superb dining room and cuisine, including wine list of course!

BelgiumWe were placed unexpectedly in a wheelchair accessible room. Consequently, the toilet was quite elevated, enough to make it awkward for people of average height. LOL. We laughed it off, adapted and still enjoyed a nice spacious room, gourmet restaurant and great facilities. That being said, best to avoid elevated toilets unless a person really required a wheel chair accessible room or elevated toilet.
Five restful, relaxing nights with excellent gourmet dining and menus, warm spacious indoor swimming pool, sauna and exercise facilities, comfy beds, friendly, helpful staff, free parking. Thank you for a very lovely stay.
