Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis is an excellent hotel in the centre of Beaulieu, very well run. The bed was very comfortable and the price point very reasonable. There is free coffee and tea in the lobby and we heard the breakfast is wonderful, but did not try it as we were visiting friends.

Switzerlandgeneral room and building maintenance could be improved. When arriving at the corridor where my room was located and I had to use the torch on my phone to find the light switch so that I don't walk through a dark corridor
location, friendly staff, small balcony, a/c was working well whilst we had about 33-35 degrees celsius outside

SwitzerlandThe staff is a wild card, some were super friendly, some weren't. But I guess everyone can have a bad day.. Quite expensive for what it is.
The room was super clean and comfortable. The hotel is near a small cozy center where you can take breakfast, it's not a crowded village, quite the opposite, but it's also very beautiful on its own.

United KingdomStorage in the room is a bit limited so a couple with a lot of clothes might struggle.
Great location, less than 10 mins to plage petit afrique which I love and a few mins from the station with great access to NCE airport and Nice ville. Room was clean with good housekeeping. Nice little balcony. Good shower. Brilliant Air Con - it was virtually silent and kept the room at a really nice cool temperature compared to outside.

United StatesWonderful front desk staff, especially the woman (forgot her name-wears hair pulled back) who helped me as I was on crutches for the full week I stayed there. Good wifi signal, adequate air con, pleasant room, very comfortable bed. Roll-down shutters block all light. Double-panned windows. Rooms have small but pleasant outdoor terraces.Hotel's location is a 30-second walk (without crutches!)to the town's charming center-which has half a dozen very good restaurants and cafes. Hotel is in a quiet area.Breakfast offered healthy options. 2-3 minute walk to train station.4-5 minute walk to port/beach. I had a wonderful stay. Villefranche one train stop away,or pleasant walk.

Netherlandsrecommend bringing shampoo and shower gel, my room was connected to another - the adjoining door was locked but it felt a bit flimsy and insecure and I could hear the neighbour very clearly like we were in the same space. this is pretty common for hotels in the area but it’s worth noting especially for single female travellers. old fashioned bathroom but they are charming enough - just useful to know it’s not a modern bathroom.
perfectly acceptable rooms for a summer stay when being in the room is for sleeping and changing - pleasant staff, clean, comfortable beds, room was made up each day beautifully and with care

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn't like, as much as 'could be improved'
The hotel is located quite close to lots of local shops, bars and restaurants. It is a walk downhill to the beach, so be aware that it's uphill all the way back. The beach was very quiet (UK half term week and of May), clean and the water fresh, but not too cold. The staff of this 'Boutique' hotel were very polite and helpful. There is some very limited parking, but if you find a space nearby on the street, it is safe and only €20 for a week. The room was very nice and clean and the bed comfortable. The aircon was a little loud, but bearable. The breakfast was quite limited with the only hot food available being a boiled egg.
