We wish we could’ve stayed forever!

Words cannot describe how special Waya Lailai Eco Haven is. From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us into their family. Their hospitality truly made us feel at home. If you would like an authentic Fijian experience then you have to stay here! We stayed in a traditional Bure which was lovely and clean. The beach and surroundings of the island are stunning. We spent most of our days doing the fantastic day trips organised by the staff or lazing in one of the hammocks on the beach. I highly recommend the snorkelling with reef sharks experience, the sunset hike and the trip to the local village. Everything about Waya Lailai is perfect, from the traditional food to the kind, friendly staff. It was the perfect place for our engagement! I highly recommend staying here. Thank you to the wonderful staff for making this such a special trip. We hope to visit again in the near future.

Limited electricity so rooms were very hot when the fan wasn’t on but not a huge issue as we had it overnight.

We loved Waya Lailai, and it was probably our favourite of the trip! Beautiful location, stunning beach and amazing coral reef for snorkelling. Free snorkel equipment and kayaks too! Lots of hammocks for relaxing and always other activities going on such as volleyball. Staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for you. Very relaxing stay!

From the moment we arrived to the warmest welcome, we knew we made a great decision to stay at Wayalailai. The community is incredibly friendly and the staff were so accommodating. They provided delicious and fresh food for a great price. The activities on offer were great - especially the reef snorkelling with reef sharks. We had the best time getting to know the village and learning about their culture. We’d 100% recommend this place to all our friends.

I absolutely loved my time at Waya Lailai, this was one of my favourite places i’ve stayed! I originally booked for 4 nights but loved it so much I extended for another 4 nights. The staff & locals welcomed me like family and were always so sweet & kind. It was great getting to know them. The food was delicious and the day time activities were so much fun and varied. It felt like being part of the community whilst staying there. The evenings were always lots of fun, everyone coming together to socialize and hang out. I will be returning as soon as I can - I miss it so much! Thank you to everyone at Waya Lailai 💛

Waya Lailai is a totally unique resort. The iTaukei welcome and constant warmth, wisdom and interaction makes you feel you are on holiday at a dreamed for home, in a home where you can snorkel with Turtles, Reef Sharks and other amazing sea life right infront of your bure. You also meet wonderfully inspiring people from all over the world who open up in Waya Lailai. Then to add to that, you get to visit local villages, climb the peak at dawn behind the resort and go on snorkel and dive boat trips. We have no desire to try any other resort in Fiji, we are coming back in a month.

My friend Victoria and I visited Wayalailai for 6 days at the beginning of April, and it was absolutely amazing! The staff are all so kind and accommodating, and make an effort to get to know you and cater for your every need. We felt so welcomed into the wayalailai family and we would certainly love to come back.

Not much! It is worth noting however that for religious reasons no activities run on a Sunday - not a problem if you have multiple days, however if you were only planning on being there one day another day would be better. Some of the facilities are a little basic but it all adds to the charm of the place, and given the price it's phenomenal.

Waiyalailai Eco Haven is such a special place - a real hidden treasure. TaiLo is an incredibly kind, knowledgeable and interesting person, and has created an fantastic atmosphere. Between being serenaded for meals, evening entertainment, kava ceremonies and cultural talks, Waiyalailai is definitely set apart from other accommodations. There are also a range of activities available such as snorkelling, village visits etc. The bure was beautiful and really comfortable. Food is buffet style so portions are enormous and really delicious. Dietary requirements were also accommodated.

The people here are so welcoming and we feel like we are back home. Stay at the beach every day to swim, dive and bask in the sun. What I eat changes every day, and I try to control myself to eat less. There is also music performance during the meal. There were also cultural performances in the evening, dancing and singing together. My child was completely integrated into this environment and it felt very wonderful. You still need to pay attention to your psychology in advance. The living conditions here are closer to the locals. The sea breeze is a bit strong every night and there are loud sounds. After two nights, it will be fine.

Basic facilities and some worms and wasps in the room building nests in clothes but not too bad.. all part of the experience

I had 3 amazing nights at Wayalailai. Met nice people, learned about fiji culture and relaxed at the beach. I enjoyed the village tour and reef snorkeling and a fresh coconut in the afternoon. Truly authentic experience and the staff is absolutely fantastic. Will remember this place for a long time!

I see 2 areas for improvement: -the food is not that good and the quantity could be increased given the number of guests -we can hear the noise from the restaurant/bar at night so it’s difficult to sleep…

Beautiful Resort, I Would say that one of the best parts about it is the big and gorgeous beach, the landscape with the hill just next to the property. Good choices of free/paying activities! And the staff is incredibly friendly, kudos to them :)

No electricity part of the night and day, so the fan turns off during the night. Few cockroaches here and there.

Nice community, well organized. Meals are buffet style and quite tasty. The activities are well organized. The room was quite comfortable, with basic no-thrill shower (cold water only) and toilet. They did a cava ceremony. They have a great goodbye song.

    That we couldn’t stay longer!

Some places can be described as magical. Waya LaiLai is one of those. The whole team go above and beyond to make your stay special - making you feel a part of the island whether that’s joining them in song at a cava ceremony, eating a bbq on the beach (with fish caught that day), or heading out on one of the activities. A truly unique place, not like a commercial resort, but you won’t regret staying here. We shall certainly remember it for ever.
