Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandWe were very excited to hire bikes, good idea, however, the chains kept coming off one bike. We took it back several times and asked if we could have it for one extra day is it did not work for nearly one day properly and we were treated quite rudely. I was not impressed with the food. The first night at Italian night was terrible, however improved after that . Our main disappointment was that we were unaware you have to book to get into restaurants, days ahead and with a one and two-year-old we could not get in to several restaurants as they were fully booked, they had a free kids meal at. 5.30 that was excellent . But then it was difficult for us to get t o dinner which normally ended up with a pizza very disappointing as we did not want nanny servservice every night to have to have a meal.
The rooms were lovely, spacious, clean and close and easy access to the water. The grounds were immaculate. Lots to do for children. Children’s club was excellent. Pools were lovey. The activities, snorkelling, kayaking, great and the staff were really helpful. Love the way staff interacted with the children and look after them. Very special care.

New ZealandI was disappointed that the large round pool was dirty with black mold on the tiles and did not smell good. It needs a good scrub and chorine shock. It is the only pool with good afternoon shade and space to lounge so it was a shame we could not enjoy it. My daughter got an ear infection but I don't know whether it was from the pool or the ocean. I also discovered that the 2-bedroom bure walls do not go all the way to the ceiling so you have to whisper and keep lights off after the kids go to bed. Not ideal. Next time I would get adjoining bures instead.
5 years after our last visit there have been a lot of improvements. The new kids club, dock and new pool are great. Also enjoyed the new ice cream shop. And of course they still have that beautiful white sand beach where you can sit in the water in the shade of coconut palms in the morning and feed the fish swimming all around you at high tide. The beachfront bures are well worth the extra cost. And the staff are still as friendly as ever. We didn't have to queue for dinner which was a big improvement over last time.

AustraliaThe beds were a little hard. Sometimes the restaurants book out quickly for meals. Didnt like it when it came time to leave!
Plantation Island Resort is picture perfect. Crystal clear blue waters. Lots to do for everyone. Swimiming, snorkeling, paddle boarding, and a great inflatable in the water for the kids. The staff sing & play the guitars at meal times and on arrival and departure which is fantastic.

GermanyNoisy due to tractors driving through the resort from 6:30 am, no retreats for guests without children (overall little relaxation), bright rooms and close to the neighbors, restrictions on water sports for adults (only small area can be used), paddle for SUP broken, cumbersome booking system for restaurants and long waiting time to order drinks and getting them (30 min+).
Beautiful location and lots of ways to spend the day. However, it is clearly only suitable for families with children and the whole resort is designed for this. Friendly staff, free use of water sports equipment, food is fine. We particularly liked the snack bar. Overall quite cheap compared to some other resorts.

New ZealandThe island is quite big and take a minute to walk around resort. I understand now why there are bikes to hire, however we found them quite expensive for what they were. The bikes were quite rusty and run down. Our fridge was very old and leaked and there were no face cloths. The tiles were a little bit dangerous when wet as well as the entire room is tiled. The staff seemed a little disconnected as there were a couple of times we needed something that we were meant to have, they said it would come to our room and it never did.
We had a great time at Plantation Island resort. The restaurants offered a good selection although one was closed sadly. We went in a quiet time of year which I think was nice. Our favourite part was how crystal clear the ocean was. The water was also incredibly warm. Our room was quite large and open which was nice.

AustraliaIt was a bit westernised and overpriced - reflected Australian prices for most things or was even more expensive than what we would pay for the same thing in Australia. We wanted to hear and see more Fijian culture and singing - not Aussie pub songs from the band.
Very nice facilities and boardwalks everywhere. Lots of things to do and activities. Staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to help you. Loved the bikes.

New ZealandWe were charged for a massage today, which I did pay for after settling the bill. I didn’t realise my husband had already settled the bill - and wanted a massage before we left on the ferry - it was the only time I could book in due to availability. The lady who did my massage saw me stay and pay for it too. Hopefully this will be rectified soon.
We absolutely love Plantation island. Our second stay, and loved the whole trip. Wonderful friendly staff, stunning location and amazing kids club. We can’t wait to come back again!! We both had a wonderful beach massage. The restaurant by the Marina was wonderful - great staff and tasty food. The

New ZealandThe food was pretty average to be honest. We had a few days with upset tummies, especially after eating at the buffet. Everything was a bit of a hassle when paying due to the whole “kids eat free” thing. I think they should make it easier on themselves and visitors by just having prices on all food no matter whether it’s kids or not - as you can tell that the prices of the adult meals are inflated to cover the cost. Tavola restaurant was really disappointing, a shame considering it’s only one of two restaurants that don’t offer a buffet. We walked to Lomani one night for dinner and it was superb - food was beautiful. In the end they are trying to cater for a lot of people so don’t expect much - there are also very limited options in the way of fresh vegetables.
Beautiful location - highly recommend a beachfront bure, it made all the difference for us. We had other family members staying so it gave us a central spot to come and go from and swim etc. in front of. Loved the Island Hop tour - snorkeling was wonderful!
