Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt sounded like there was a small bird trapped in the top of our bure as it kept tweeting during the night… we couldn’t actually see it but the ceiling was pretty high and there was a fan in the way. We had thought the room came with a private hammock which it did not. The shared sun loungers on the beach weren’t plentiful and as there were quite a lot of guests staying at the resort, it was pretty hard to get one.
Stayed in a premium garden bure, it was a lovely room that was spacious and clean. It had a private bathroom with outdoor shower which was a lovely touch. There was a mosquito net to use around the bed which was ideal as there were quite a lot of mosquitoes around. The resort had a lovely beach with sun loungers and hammocks as well as a pool. Lots of activities on offer some of which were free which was a really nice touch.

United KingdomWater pressure in the shared bathroom showers wasn’t great. There weren’t very many sun loungers on the beach which meant unless you got there really early in the morning it was hard to get one. Not great vegetarian/vegan options on the menu which was disappointing.
Stayed in the bungalow which was a private room with shared bathroom. The room was spacious and had outside seating which was a nice touch. It was also air conditioned which was very much appreciated. Shared bathroom facilities were kept very clean. Despite being very centrally located within the resort it was very calm and quiet. Good range of activities on offer including visits to local village, mountain hike, jewellery making etc.

AustraliaThe resort boat had inadequate safety considerations - we were actually a bit terrified on our crossing home which was unfortunate. We also didnt know that there was a better bigger option of the Yasawa Ferry. Would recommend that to people coming here rather than the small boat.
Amazing snorkelling and food - great selection of activities and legitimately felt like a community.

CanadaOur bungalow did not have a bathroom. The shared facilities were close to us and fine and clean but we would have liked our own bathroom and shower. We knew this ahead from the small print so it was our choice. I believe the bures had their own bathrooms but they were much more expensive.
It was beautiful and the food was amazing

AustraliaThe setting is superb with bures surrounded by lush greenery. The perfect place to relax and unwind. Snorkeling just off the main beach was amazing and the tubing and volleyball were lots of fun. The wonderful staff were so happy and friendly. They made our two birthday celebrations so special with delicious cakes and everyone smiling and singing. We loved our stay at Octopus!

United Kingdom- after booking we hadn’t realised that there is an additional payment (Approx 130 Fijian dollars per day per person) for ‘mandatory meal plans’ however this seems to be prevalent in every resort in Fiji. And with the quality of the food it was money well spent
- The food is beyond exceptional, there wasn’t single meal that we had that wasn’t amazing. Everything from curry’s, stir fry’s to roast dinners every dish was delicious the kitchen team are outstanding - Jodie the scuba instructor was brilliant, she was knowledgable and infinitely patient, reassuring us every step of the way. We had a really good time doing the ‘discover scuba’ trip - We stayed in a bungalow which was much more spacious than the accommodation we stayed in on the other islands and more importantly had air conditioning

PortugalFirst of all, all the staff are amazing. Fiji is a beautifull place. But what make this trip even better it was the people. Every single one. If i have a desire to comeback to this place its because of the people. They are genuine and good. I will comeback for sure. About the place is good, the food its very nice and the front beach villa its very very good.
