WOW. What a resort. The bure was amazing, the views, the food. Would highly recommend. Catered well for vegetarians. I finished my stay on my birthday and was treated to a special birthday song, a birthday desert and a gift from the staff. Couldn't recommend more

Beautiful setting! Clean dorm and shower facilities. Very attentive staff. Great food including complimentary afternoon tea. Access to the house reef, beautiful spot to watch the sunrise after a short hike. We were lucky to be there on a saturday and got to see a lovo being made and then had that for dinner. Bill facilitated a kava ceremony. Access to the caves run from the resort. Lots of other activities both paid and free run by the team to fill your days.

The only thing that we can ask to improve on would be the coffee. 😀 There should be fresh coffee and not just instant coffee.

The room size and proximity to the beach was wonderful. The air conditioning was really good and very comfortable. The view was absolutely stunning, real paradise. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was an issue. They made us feel at home and we really miss them already! The food was excellent, very tasty & lots of it. There were plenty of activities to choose from each day.

All I can say is that Oarsmans Bay lodge is special. If you like big hotel resorts then maybe it won't be for you. This small resort is beautiful with amazing staff, food and in a beautiful location. The staff made our trip and we are so grateful.

Like all islands in the Yasawa's, there's a few mosquitos here. However, just bring bug spray and you'll be ok.

Service: The staff were fantastic, especially Lucy, who was so down to earth and friendly that we still talk about her today and hope she is doing well. Location: The water was exceptional! Super clean, blue with lots of fish cruising past all the time. The sand on the beach is quite soft, especially considering there is coral reef right at the front of the resort, so you'd expect the sand to be course, and little hermit crabs scurry along it. I think the best part is that the beach faces the sunset, so you can sit on your hammock, have a drink in your hand and watch the sun go down. Some resorts we stayed at don't face the sunset, so this is a huge plus.

    I didn’t like having to leave. 😩

This was the most unbelievable place to stay if you want complete calm & serenity. It is totally removed from the outside world & is an oasis of calm & peace. The staff are amazing & most of them are islanders who are totally invested in Oarsman Bay & the experience that they want their guests to have. The whole ethos behind Oarsman Bay is wonderful & how it helps & supports the wider community of the island. Fantastic snorkeling, amazing food, wonderful staff.

We loved everything: -The location is beautiful, the beach in front of the hotel is stunning, the most beautiful of the yasawas. The long boat trip is really worth it. I would do it again for sure! -The staff is really lovely. Everyone was so kind with us and we can’t be more grateful. They all made our stay even more special. Thanks to Lucy, Ana, Louisa,. :) -The food was delicious. I’m vegetarian and the options provided were great. I loved how they used local ingredients such as coconut and pineapple on their recipes. The meal plan is really worth it and make things easier for everyone. -The spa is a must! The massage provided by Louisa was great. I can’t recommend it enough! -The rooms were comfortable, nice shower and views. -WiFi in the common area worked very well, and honestly, you won’t need it! You won’t be able to stop looking at the beach!

Oarsman's Bay Lodge was an amazing place to stay! It was secluded/quiet, not many people (adults only), the beach was 40 steps away from our room, food was delicious, and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. And the views - stunning! There were places to snorkel right off the beach, the beach itself was lovely to lay on, and the water was clear and warm. The Lodge provides snorkeling and kayak gear for free, and they were happy to help us arrange excursions. We went during the wet season (February 2024), but we experienced very few downpours (and even while it was raining we still went swimming). Mosquitos really weren't bad at all - we really only encountered them at dinner time, and a little bug spray did the trick. The accommodations were well kept and comfy. Fantastic place to stay - you won't regret it!

There is arranged tours, leaving from the resort. I went on a snorkeling tour and was extremely disappointed that our Fiji “guide” had no or very little knowledge about preserving their own colorful corals. Initially he had a break by standing on the corals, which led to the collapse of the coral. This went on multiple times on the tour and totally took my mind away from my snorkeling experience. Eventually I confronted my “guide” about his behavior and he just kept ignoring it and said “it’s fine, it’s fine”, to which I had to reply “no??” This guy should not be allowed to do any snorkeling and especially not as a guide for tourists. Can’t imagine how many corals that guy can break in a year. I miss more discipline and education of the staff so the can understand the basic facts about the eco system. This behavior was totally unacceptable.

The place is beautiful and especially the hike behind the lodge is beautiful. The dorms was very clean and relaxing. Nice with a shared table for the dorm. Thanks!

We loved Oarsman Bay Lodge our Beach side Bure was beautiful and the outside shower was so unique. The food was well presented tasty and plentiful, especially when they catered for my dietary needs and provided gluten free bread, cakes and meals. The staff were wonderful caring and nothing was too much trouble. The use of kayaks, paddle boards and snorkel equipment free of charge was a bonus.

An amazing 5-day stay! It felt like we were truly welcomed in a local family. We had a bure with view on the ocean. Equipped with AC, toilets, bathroom. We ran out of hot water after the 1st day, but it wasn't a problem at all. You have to pay for meals 129 Fijian Dollar per day per person. The food is great and diverse. Breakfast: buffet; Lunch: a main; Afternoon tea; Dinner: most days of the week a 3-course meal, other days can be traditional Fijian BBQ (lovo) or other buffet. We loved the little attention: we were sitting at the different table at each meal enjoying a different view of the ocean. About activities, not possible to get bored ! Between free access to kayaks, padels, snorkeling gears you can also sign up for free activities like basket weaving, cooking class, etc. Then the charged activities are also worthwhile: Sawa-i-lau caves, snorkeling, fishing. If you enjoy hiking you can get a sight of the sunrise and sunset but climbing up the top (roughly 45min). Adequate shoes are needed and prefer wearing long pants. The trail is not walked often therefore, full of high grass. If you try snorkeling in front of the resort, and if you're a novice like me, ask when is the suited time. It will avoid you damaging the coral and your knees at the same time. The staff was wonderful, warm and kind. Our last evening was a Saturday and we had the chance to experience traditional dance, singings and kava. Thank you Lucy for the honeymoon decoration in the room ! And thank you Louisa for the Spa! Both my wife and I tried : very relaxing. You must try! Thanks again for our amazing stay.
