Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaEverything had an extra cost, unlike most places we stayed in Fiji. The mantarays did not make an appearance, which is apparently common but not advertised prior to checkin.
Our beachfront bure was perfect - the bathroom was stunning!

AustriaIt’s a beautiful resort and the staff members were really lovely. They assisted me with my special request for transfer and I never felt more taken care of. I stayed in the dorm, which was really comfortable and even though it sleeps 32 people, it still provides a good amount of privacy. I met so many lovely people and the the activities were fun. I can higly recommend going on a scuba dive.

United Arab EmiratesThe food was okay only. It was good, but not spectacular and I've heard other island resort meals are spectacular. The same could be said of the activities which seemed to be offered for free at higher quality at other similar resorts. The activities which I did were sub-par for sure. There is another hostel style resort which generally everyone is amazed at, so this one is a bit subpar comparably. Overall it's really nice though, I enjoyed my time.
I really liked the staff, though some people were less comfortable with them. They were the type of staff to be more real with you rather than overly please tourists, so it depends on your preference.

SwitzerlandThe food is quite expensive for what you get.
Snorkeling here is amazing compared to other resorts. Possibility to tank dive in caves, and you may see Mantarays, turtles or sharks.

AustraliaThe only thing I could suggest is to have sleeping ear plugs for sale for use in the dorm. It wasn't too bad, but we forgot our ear plugs and were woken a few times.
It was my own late booking that meant we couldn't upgrade the accommodation, but the dorm room was clean and had plenty of space. The staff tried to accommodate us, but the property was fully booked. The meal deal was very good value with excellent food and serving size. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The dive equipment was well maintained and the dive staff very professional with a good range of dive sites. Good value and I will definitely be back.

GermanyExtra costs for nearly everything: Towel, Snorkeling Gear, many of the activities and expensive drinks. Mandatory meal plan which was pretty costly compared to the food-quality. Really Bad Wifi.
Nice coral-reef in front of the resort and good dorm even though there is 32 beds in it.

United KingdomService occasionally slow in the restaurant, but nothing bad. Mandatory meal cost makes sense, and is great value for money, however it is not obvious when booking - make this less of a hidden cost and more prominent, it’s worth it
location is amazing, staff very friendly and always on hand to ensure have a great trip. Reed bure was beautiful, private bathroom and steps out onto the beach. Awesome dive spots. Food is tasty and plentiful.

New ZealandBeware of hidden costs - we weren’t told about the compulsory meal plan and the price increased after we booked and the old price was not honoured. Both the management and Booking.com needs to do better with this. Wifi wasn’t amazing so download before you go and don’t plan work!

AustraliaThings quickly add up and whilst it was a great stay, it does get pricy. Some things which are included in other resorts are not here. It caters more for single couples or dorm-based groups rather than families with smaller children. Not a problem at all and we had so much fun, but just to be aware if you are looking for a kids club/care. That said, they went out of their way to help us. Lovely team.
The reef just off the beach is one of the best I've ever seen - amazing marine life just off the resort's beaches. Great atmosphere and very good team at Manta Ray resort - they went out of their way to help us and ensure the best experience possible. That reef... WOW!
