Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomFrom the moment we were collected from the boat, we knew we had made the best decision to stay at Wayalailai. All the staff were super friendly and always ready to go the extra mile - whether playing volleyball, crafting island jewellery and hats, or teaching us about their culture. By far the most welcoming community we visited in Fiji and would 100% recommend to everybody. We loved the food which was such great value and always fresh. The beach was beautiful and cleaned daily by the staff. The reef snorkelling trip was one of the highlights of our entire trip!

CanadaVery few constructive for this property as I left 10/10 review. Not related to them but I recommend booking the Yasawa flyer for both the outbound and return journey. Don’t take the sea bus.
Great location with an amazing ~300m snorkel course just off the property. It is really amazing and I enjoyed doing this everyday during my stay. They also offer some unique tours, you can do the cave tour for FJ79 which is great value. All other tours are cheaper or free. No issues with the shared bathroom it is kept very clean and similar to a nice campground, etc. Food was fantastic and as others have mentioned the meal plan is FJ179/day. A takeaway lunch for the ferry is also FJ15. Cocktails are FJ23 and beer is FJ9. FJ2 off both during happy hour.

CanadaThe Blue Lagoon Beach Resort met and exceeded my expectations. The location and the resort were beautiful, but what truly made the stay so memorable was every one of the resort staff that I had the pleasure of meeting. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and genuine. They treated me like family. I would highly recommend this resort. 10/10

United StatesFood was not very good. Should have more basic options that have a better chance of tasting good instead of having so many sophisticated dishes that don’t.

United KingdomDespite advising that they could cater for vegans, the vegan food options were really poor. Often just the vegetarian dish without the dairy bits which meant mostly just a plate of vegetables. When paying the same as guests eating steak or fresh fish it was quite disappointing. There seemed to be poor communication between the staff as id stated the vegan dietary requirement both on booking and on arrival but had to reiterate it to almost every waiter who approached the table. It made me feel like I was being difficult or causing problems which I feel was unfair given they had advised me they could cater for this dietary requirement. Additionally, we used the shared bathroom facilities, these weren’t particularly well maintained in terms of cleanliness- for example finding a used tampon in the shower was pretty grim.
The most beautiful location, absolutely worth the long boat ride to get there. Clear blue water and clean sandy beaches with incredible coral reef accessible from the beach. We stayed in the lodge which was reasonably sized although not much room for a suitcase to open and had a ceiling fan which was much needed! Really great activities on offer which we got involved with, loved the cave trip and the village tour!! Staff all very friendly and welcoming.

AustraliaAll the resorts in Fiji charge you extra for food which is ok if you know in advance. Booking should add that relevant information before you pay the booking. Sometimes some of the waiters did not have the best attitude, important to mention if you book dinner 7.30 - 8:00 pm they were serving everything in a rush which we did not liked it.
The place is unreal, we loved it. We supposed to visit other islands, however we ended up staying at Blue Lagoon the whole time. They offer different kind of activities, we did the sunset tubbing and the cave it was amazing. Actually, you can use paddle board and kayaks for free. Food was great too, dinner were kind of set menu everyday. Special mention to the waiters Pena and Sala, they gave us a great service while we were having our meals. Besides, Kity one of the housekeepers was super lovely with us.

Beautiful. More resort like than other sites (I.e. barefoot manta which I did prefer as was a little more casual and more my vibe) but nice if you want something a bit more up market.

AustraliaHousekeeping was a little hit and miss. Did some things great but didn’t change towels often enough and would leave dirty dishes. Staff not quite as enthusiastic as other resorts that we’ve been to. Didn’t have that same super friendly feel.
Such a relaxed feel the moment you got there. Location incredible. Great snorkelling straight off the beach. Food fantastic!
