Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaOften loud music playing all day, like it was a party island but it wasn’t really….it was a little odd. As I said earlier the food wasn’t magnificent but that wasn’t unexpected
Multiple types of accommodation options from dorms to beachfront bures. We had a lovely bure on the waters edge which was clean and close to everything. The staff were great but the food was average but you don’t go to Fiji for the food anyway

AustraliaJust one day when there was a huge day trippers arrive. They were rude to the staff and pushy etc. it was unpleasant.
The island location is great. Shout out to staff but Stanley was amazing and made us feel looked after and took so much care with his interactions. Can’t rave enough about him. My room was good. Not everything was perfect but I never expected it to, just wanted a beautiful place, not ridiculously expense, but comfortable enough to make you just relax, and it did that in spades.

United KingdomThe dorms are not great and the food each night was cold or luke warm. Often no one at the bar so waiting around a lot to find someone to get a drink. We went to Beachcomber as our first stop but we had a better experience on the islands up north if you have the time to go.
The island and the beach are stunning - the beach was so clean, clear water and lovely snorkelling. The staff are friendly, when you can find them.

Australialunch and dinner for nine days poor, improvement our last nights dinner. Staff not adequately trained in preparing tasty food and/or presentation, can be simple, recommend trainer to advise staff on combination of ingredients for taste and presentation, Greater variety of fruit would be great, watermelon and pineapple for staple became boring. Breakfast was great.
room location, staff friendly helpful, coral viewing great, ambience of resort quiet and picturesque

New ZealandLuke warm food. Shower needs better head. Boat expensive. And water was way to dear. Free water would be good.
Finally got to stay on an island. 😀Was so pretty and nice on Beachcomber. Did snorkelling every day. Was fun. Great place to make friends. Great size room I had. Very nice view. Staff are the best. Funny, helpful, friendly. Welcome to the island singing, leaving and arriving singing. Is good night life if people choice to drink and dance.Pool table. Bar. Good size dining area. Food was ok. Just cld have been warmer. Some days better than others. Fiji staff need to be paid what they are worth. Way more! 😀

United KingdomThe whole resort requires a solid refurbishment and regular maintenance. Very tired/dated bathroom facilities in the room. There are very little places to chill/sit. Food not the best. We are aware that some of the issues are due to the difficult times following COVID but others are just regular maintenance.
It was good location, close to the mainland (transferred offered to mainland destination at a good price), beautiful scenery, nice snorkelling provided, friendly staff.

Hong KongThe sea was very rough and I could only do snorkeling in the morning on the day of departure and could not do so for the rest of my stay ( i stayed for 1 night only) but this is not the fault of the resort. Not sure if it is the same for the other islands. It is stated on the notice board there was quiz at night. But no one conducted it. A bit disappointed. Boat transfer to resort in Fiji is expensive in general. About FJD125 for single trip per person for just about 45 minutes if you travel by South Sea Cruise. The boat transfer by Beachcomber is cheaper at FJD 99 pp per single journey. I think this is more expensive than in Maldives.
Snorkeling can be done in shallow waters off the beach - good for people, like me, don't know how to swim. Saw quite a number of blue starfish near the reef at the southern eastern part of the Island. i.e. to the left of the restaurant if you face towards the sea. This is the highlight of my trip. I stayed at the sunset wing, The beach is just outside my room. Really enjoy listening to the sound of waves even when I was inside the room. Resort was with relaxing atmosphere. There were quite a few choices of food for meal but do not expect too much. Joined a fishing feeding trip in the first round luckily as the second round was cancelled due to windy condition. Staff was very friendly.

AustraliaFood isn't great compared to other resorts I've been at Yasawa Islands. I'm not a fussy person, but my dorm was dirty as. Also, lack of places to chill like comfortable chairs on the beach, only wooden benches on restaurant and bar areas.
The island itself is beautiful. I spent 2 nights there including NYE, which was fun.

AustraliaThe food: from 0 to 10, I would say 4. Main reasons: too fatty. Sausages were literally just fat. The food is cooked with too much oil. Pasta was tasteless. No many options for people who are sensitive to some food intolerances. Other reasons: Should find better way to safe-display the food, specially breads, salads and fruits. There are too many flies for just using cling film wrap on salads and fruits. After few guests serve themselves fruits and vegetables, it gets impossible to cling wrap the rest of the food properly. Breads or any other pastry neither. So many flies landing on the food can bring some sort of diseases. I know flies is something the staff can’t control, but the way how the food is displayed can improve. The good thing is that the staff is always willing to make you feel happy. Always smiling and available to help!
The location, the island vibe, the staff is so so kind, rooms are pretty ok. We spent New Years there and the party was really good. Party island!

New ZealandSome staff weren't so friendly, while others were polite enough. The room was good for the price, but there was a lack of outdoor furniture if you enjoy seating outside. The beach is stunning but it needs better maintenance as we found litter around the island including potentially hazardous glass shards. A few items in the menu were greasy for my taste.
The island and the beach are absolutely stunning, with perfect water temperature. Our morning and evening walks around the island, along with falling asleep to the gentle sound of the ocean, were incredibly relaxing. While the food didn't offer a wide variety, it was sufficient for those without a lot of dietary requirements. There are free activities like snorkeling with included equipment, which was a fantastic experience. Nothing luxurious but overall great deal for the price and all meals included.

New ZealandIm some places the sand was so deep I rolled my ankle a few times. The shop could sube down with a little more supplies. I saw a staff member wearing a sulu with beachcomber on it i would have liked to get one for my hubby but didn’t see it in the shop.
The locations was fabulous just a wee short 45 min spendy boat ride and you were at the island. We were greeted but the staff welcoming us with a song. Activities were offered throughout the day I loved learning about the turtle breeding programme. Going out to the reef to look at the coral and feed the fish then snorkel was very cool. This type of accommodation is what we love. The food was ample and varied. If you are looking for a holiday location that you can relax and do very little bit also want to do some low key activities then this is the place for you. When we were there I’d say it was less than 1/4 capacity which suited us. I could imagine it would be an excellent party island. We would definitely come back again.
