Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesRooms and Furniture needs to be upgraded. Bed needs more fluffy cushions as well as pillows. TV needs to be upgraded as well. All through out my stay my window was covered with papers and gave me no views at all. I was advised that there was on going construction outside my room. Air conditioner does not work but was provided with a small electric fan which is fine. Other than this had a comfortable and quiet stay at the property.
I was checked in iand assisted with the Hotel Staff Olga at the Front Desk. She was very courteous and friendly. She had given information where to go especially getting around the city. She was very helpful all through out my stay at Hotel Finn. I also enjoyed the Shower and the Bathroom facilities since it’s clean and the water from the shower was very good. I would also commend that the hotel has an excellent location . It’s a few minutes walk to the city and commercial center of Helsinki.

FinlandEspecially in the weekend surroundings are very noisy ss there are many bars and discos etc around and people are staying out late nights.
Location is very good in the centre of Helsinki. Double windows help keeping the rooms silent enough. The staff is very friendly.

United Kingdomthey are doing building works, which meant that my room had building noise during limited hours, but also that the windows were blacked out. there was a late warning that this could happen, but I think that having no natural light should either warrant free cancellation or a big discount. It's not good to have three nights in a room with basically no windows at nearly 100 euros a night, room only
underfloor heating in bathroom

Germanynoise isolation for the neighbour's room could be better.
The bathroom was excellent, newly renovated. The room itself was small, but as I travelled alone and did not spend too much time in it, it was good for its purpose.

The hotel is located in Kamppi, near every department stores. The room is cozy, but the bathroom is a little bit small. The elevator is quite old and can carry only 1 person with 1 luggage. The staff is very nice!

United KingdomLots of outside noise on a saturday from the bars down below, but ok on weekday nights - would not recommend on a friday or saturday but fine for other nights. Lift very small and slow. Not a proper shower but did the job.
Really good location, friendly staff, comfortable bed and great curtains to keep the light out. Ok value for money but nothing special.

MontenegroThe bathroom! The shower is above the toilet making the entire bathroom wet. There is a curtain to put around the toilet, but it is not making it much better. It is almost impossible to wash your face above the sink for how small it was... Single small bed, old, old furniture...
The location is good.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaHotel looks much better in photos than in person. Bathroom is very small, there is no shower tub, so it's very hard to not make a mess while showering. It's overpriced for what it offers, especially compared to Tallinn where I paid the same amount for two nights in much better hotel. I was also annoyed by receptionist who came after us when we went back to pick up our luggage. She was pretending to check something around, but was actually spying on us, while I was charging my phone in the hallway.
Hotel is located nearby train station, so it's easy to reach it by walking. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Hotel has lockers where you can leave your luggage after check out for the rest of the day.

SloveniaThe location of the hotel is amazing - just right in the centre so you can walk everywhere. The room is big, the bathroom however is smaller, but we didn't mind it. We were also able to keep our luggage in their storage rooms on the arrival and departure day. The staff was really helpful and friendly.

SwedenNeither of the two booked rooms were ready by check in time, had to wait for housekeeping to clean.
Fantastic location, bright and spacious rooms. Beds were decent too. The three separate bed layout also did not feel like an after thought, which was a pleasant surprise.

United KingdomEverything was good.
It was in a great central location for accessing all transport routes. It was very warm & cosy to return to with unexpected sub zero temperatures outside. Nice to be able to take hot drinks up to our room & the added kettle meant we could make our own drinks with provided tea & coffee. The heated bathroom floor was particularly welcome. Reception were very friendly.
