Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalNo blinds on the windows, I was on the ground floor and the late check ins and early checkouts was kinda disturbing because off the noise the guests made, arriving and leaving. Also no elevator, for us was no problem since i was on the ground floor but that made the noise guests made going up the stairs with luggage even worst. If you spend the whole day in Donana nature reserve and expect to have a good night sleep consider booking an upper floor
Beautiful entrance and a cozy poll

MaltaThough the lady at reception did her best to make us welcome, she could not speak one word in English and hence there was very little communication between us! We would have loved to have a small kettle at least in our rooms, for the possibility to make some tea/coffee, since breakfast was not available. And a couple of carpets near our beds would have been appreciated..
Hacienda Olontigi is a rural accommodation, situated about half an hour drive from central Seville in a small village, Aznalcazar. Hence a quieter environment, very traditional surroundings but still close to a couple of nice bars and restaurants, where we spent marvellously pleasant evenings. The rooms are spacious and quite clean.

New ZealandWe had a small problem getting all the electrics to work
It was like opening the door to a little piece of paradise when we walked our bikes through the gate, to find a lovely courtyard with a swimming pool.

NetherlandsThe bathroom was extremely uncomfortable - moist and very, very cold. This was mid-winter, so probably not an issue in spring, summer and autumn. A water cooker would have been nice.
Spacious room, friendly staff, good location in the middle of the town, with a lot of restaurants nearby.

PortugalThere's no way you can get a coffee in the morning. Luckily, there are a few coffee shops just around the corner that are opening quite early. Was quite cold end of November, but there is an AC and electric radiator you can use.
A charming hacienda-style place to sleep over. Every single detail is super authentic. Decent size of the swimming with a bunch of sunbeds around. The parking can be easily found on the streets surrounding the hotel.

NorwayGood rooms, beds good. My room was against the street, so there where some noice, but hey, its a village with other people living there, so some noice is expected, I dont complain about the noice at all. I had a good sleep every night. Clean room. Outside area with pool and sunbeds, nice and quiet, shaded from the street, a little oase within the building complex. Friendly staff. Payed a little exctra for parking inside the complex, very nice. No breakfast or food available, but we had all our meals at the local restaurants or at the dropzone, Skydive Spain. Some of the rooms had a common kitchen area so we could have prepaired our own meals if needed.

HungaryHelpful staff. Nice room. The local main street worth a trip for dinner or breakfast. Zona Zero has simple and good meals (try the pork cheek stew or the potato salad) or ask the host for recommendations. Sevilla is not far away with car. There is a pool in the garden. Nice value for the price. I really recommend it.

PortugalI think the bathrooms could be modernised as they are very old and "dark".
The property is very nice and has a hacienda "vibe" in the middle of a town. Check-in was easy. The rooms have AC, but ours wasn't working. Immediately, we were transferred to another room which had a working AC. Our requests were attended with kindness and easiness.

New ZealandDespite what was said on booking.com's site staff spoke very little English. There was no ability to boil a kettle/make a hot drink any where. Breakfast was not available ( we asked 24 hours in advance for our second day) - the 'double room' accommodation only provided a 'bed for the night' (family villas may offer more ?) The small town of Aznalcazar was underwhelming and appeared to offer only 'basic' bar/cafe food. Avoid the bar Zone Zero at one end of the Main Street we were charged 9 euros for 4 small pieces of cheese and two draught beers - it was more expensive than any other bar we have visited in Spain !!
Probably good value for money (we had not stayed anywhere as 'basic' as this on this trip ) Although she spoke minimal English the housekeeper was as helpful as she could be We were fortunate that we were able to park our car in the courtyard ( there appeared to be 4 spaces available)
