Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SerbiaSometimes elevator was not working so I needed to go by foot. Also, since it is on Tahrir square, sometimes it can be noisy. There were not a lot of windows in the room.
Location, clean rooms, good value for money. Also staff is very friendly. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good.

HungaryThere are certain areas, where the hotel can improve: The first night, at my immediate arrival, it was told that, I cannot stay there, I have to go to the Hostel part of the hotel(Golden Hotel), there was not any rationale, and no compensation. It was an unpleasant experience, as I was really exhausted, and the exchange hotel was not on the same level of quality. The first morning I missed the breakfast, as it was only served 8-9am, and this was not communicated to me before. In Up Town hotel, the accessories such as fridge, TV was not working properly. In the fridge there was a towel to held back the leak, meanwhile the TV has no access to any TV channel. The quality of the Wifi is so poor that, I cannot use the Hotel's internet in my room.
The location was perfect, as the hotel was located near the centre, and the Nile.Actually the room was okay, it was more than sufficient for me, it was spaceous, the materials used during the enterior arrangment seemed close to premium. I personally liked that during my stay there was no cleaning of the room.

United KingdomThe shower needs a screen as it floods the bathroom floor each time you use it..
Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was a good size with a large balcony, the location was brilliant for everything couldn’t have got a better place for that. Very noisy but bring earplugs to sleep, we were offered a choice of 2 rooms one which was quieter but we opted for the noisier one as had a balcony with amazing view..

United KingdomThe roof terrace is functional rather than attractive. The male staff on reception at night were OK, but were often slow and reluctant to stop smoking and get out of their chairs. If requesting extra soap or toilet paper it is best to stay in reception until the items are produced, otherwise you might either wait a long time, or simply not get it. The bathroom was freshly refurbished, but the design did not include a soap holder in the shower, or a towel rail (we used the door handle). To be fair, these are small quibbles, for the price and location (Cairo Museum is in the same street, Cairo Tower is a short walk away across the Nile, and the Metro is across the street), this is a decent hotel.
Because of the location, the price, and previous reviews, we hadn't expected much of the hotel, but were delighted when we arrived. We were greeted downstairs, and taken up in the lift, our bags carried for us. The reception staff were well presented, professional, and very warm, friendly, and helpful. And we loved our room which was clean, tidy, well presented, freshly decorated, and with a great view of the roundabout, which was a source of much entertainment for the family. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony watching the traffic! The hotel entrance is a narrow gated alley to the right of KFC. If a taxi driver doesn't know the hotel, tell him "KFC". When dropped off you'll have to walk to the right to get around the metal fence separating the road from the pavement.

United Arab EmiratesWifi is not stable, but I have data so all good. It seems that Facebook is free if you buy a simcard at the airport so just purchase the cheapest package.
Location is very accessible, staff are friendly, price is reasonable, very near to Egyptian museum and souvenir shops, just beside KFC and some restaurants. There is also money changer nearby. Breakfast is good 👍 The tours in the hotel are cheaper than online booking. There is heater in the shower and my room is quiet at night. I will come back to this hotel if I am visiting Egypt again. 👍
