Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The location was perfect. Right next to the markets and restaurants within walking distance of the intercity buses and the train station. Our host was so kind I got food poisoning on the trip and he let us stay in our room after checkout before our train left to rest, and gave us coffee and lemon tea. Highly recommend if you want a great budget experience in Luxor.

United KingdomThe hostel can check you in 24 hours a day, I came in at 4 am as my bus came from Cairo. The staff are trustworthy people who you can count on to not rip you off. Like other hostels and places. There are plug sockets near beds so you can charge your phone. The hostel is cleaned from top to bottom every day by the cleaners. The toilets and bathroom are clean but outdated. Hence the low price of the hostel. Understandable with the concept. I did a lot of work on my laptop at the hostel in the main area and it was safe to leave the laptop unattended. A decent bunch of guests and staff. You will meet a lot of interesting like-minded travellers with whom you can engage in conversation make lifetime friends and share stories and experiences. The staff are helpful and advise advice on good places to eat nearby. The price is fair for the dorm and is really good value for money for solo travellers. I stayed here 6 nights I think because it was so good and booked multiple times. 3 boking in total. I would recommend this hostel and give it a 10/10. Negatives The mattresses in my male dorm were worn out and very springy, but it was manageable. The pillow was good. A lot of static shocks from the blanket duvet during the day and night, something new I experienced. Never experience static electric shocks. The bathroom is outdated, but that is the concept and how it is. The kids on the street outside are noisy and cheeky to tourists. But that is the odd one. Not the hostel's fault. Most kids are friendly and curious. Dog and animal noises sometimes during the night, but that is all over Egypt. No air conditioning in the summer I think you are in the bedrooms.
One of the friendliest enjoyable family-feel hostels. Clean, safe, secure, and value for money, with excellent Wi-Fi all around the building. Several Wi-Fi networks to connect to. The team who run the place are lovely the Bad Boy Alpha Male Leader, Mohammed is a cool guy who can organise many activities e.g. hot air balloon e.g. for 1500 EGP at a fair price for second-day flights. Able to hire a taxi for the day trip to Edfu and Kombo temple and finish at Aswan for a fair price with other like-minded travellers. Organised trips to Valleys of Kings and Queens, Hatshepsut Temple, Habu Temple and many more. Nothing is impossible for the team here. Mohammed has a nonsense straight-talking, direct and fair approach. Ensure he provides you with the best service and tours available at the time. Jamila the mother figure and angles of the hostel is nice and friendly and easy to talk to. You can easily ask her for any advice and tips on tours and activities and willing to help you and ensure your needs are met. And finally, the best bit is a young Man called Yunus. Also known as Top G and Boss Man, Yunus. Man of several talents and an all-around loveable character of the hostel. A lovely, hard-working good person. He is a good guy please tip him and the rest of the staff at the hostel. They are hard-working. The breakfast is simple and effective, one egg omelette, tea or coffee, processed cheese, bananas or cucumber or strawberries Egyptian bread and some black stuff. Simple, but does a good job to set you off for the day. Served on the rooftop from 7 am to 10 am. The location is good. Close to Luxor train station, 5 minutes away. Fried chicken shop 2 minutes away. Very good and cheap. Luxor temple is 8 minutes away by walking and many other e.g. McDonald's, Mosque the Nile crossing and Go bus drop off and on station and ticket office. The Luxor market is around the corner 8 minutes. Plenty of small shops to buy drinks snacks and water from.

SwitzerlandThere was nothing bad. Felt good from minite one.
The stuff was proffessional and always available. They were kind and fair. Adviced us on how to navigate the city. We arrived too early and offered us free breakfast in the wonderful rooftop. The hostel is a little spot of tranquility, located very central and really close to both Luxor Temple and the Gobus station, all shops are nearby but the hostel is in a small street with no traffic so that it is very quite. They have fan and air conditioning that works very well. One feels really safe in this hostel. I needed an enveloped and the person in the entrance went himself to buy me one free of charge. Then I also forgot my inalambric headaset in the room and I headed to Hurghada. They not only found it, they also arranged shipping so that I could get them back in Hurghada, also free of charge! Very affordable place, very honest and kind people who are not trying to scam you and always go the extra mile. Thanks so much Sweet Hostel!

TaiwanThis is a good option for traveller because the nice guys and service. The bathroom is very clean. You also can see them map the floor everyday. The hostel location is near Luxor temple and Luxor train station. You also could book hot air balloon/king valley/boat on the Nile to see the sunset. And the price is reasonable and the service is pretty complete. All of them are really patient to help me! I really have a good experience in here. Especially Jamila and Mohamed, they give me a big hand. It's also suitable for a girl who travel alone. It makes me feel safety and relaxed! I'll come back this hostel again and again.

United StatesBreakfast was basic and cheerlessly served. I booked a 4-person dorm for 3 nights. Upon arrival to a 3-person dorm, the woman in the room was asked to change rooms with no explanation. I assumed it was to avoid male/female mix. So 2 other males moved into the dorm. No problem. Two days later, I was asked to switch to a 6-person dorm, and the hostel was far from full. I complied--it was only for 1 more night. But the hostel staff seems to care little about shuffling guests around. I can only assume that they wish to pack the most people they can into the fewer rooms, so as to avoid some minor cleaning. This hardly seems right.
Good location. Wifi good in rooms but not on roof. Rooftop hangout pretty good. Decent value
