Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Bulgaria- The personal is speaking English but it was however difficult to understand each other. There was misundestanding on the chat before arrival (they didn't understand me right) and made a discount about the payment of the excursions which was great. - They wanted to pre-pay the money for the travel from Cairo to Siwa and they claimed they were not getting the money in their bank account. This way we lost 40 euros for the bank transaction instead of paying on arrival in the hotel. I got angry and decided to organize the trip by myself and the traveling company we used didn't ask for money before the trip. We paid 150$ after arrival in Siwa which is normal I think. - I asked for quiet room before arrival in whatsup and they provided a noisy room next to the road! There were motocycles running and dogs barking. We needed to change room the day after because of this and the room was better but not optimal. - The bathroom smells a bit, the pressure of the water is bad. The light in the bedroom is poor but this wasn't a problem for me. - They said that there are 3 swimming pools but 2 of them are cold (around 20 degrees) and the hot pool which is 37 degrees is very dirty. The cold water pools are not super clean as well. The tiles in the complex are a bit broken.
The rooms are with traditional furniture, traditional builded houses. The garden is beautiful with different trees and palms. The food cooked in the hotel restaurant is delicious but a lot more expensive than in the city. They organized for us trips around Siwa which were amazing - 100$ per person for all excursions. Safari in the deset, the Shali fortress, the Fatnas island, the Cleopatra spring, Mountain of the dead, Alexander temple, the salt lakes. We are very pleased with Ahmed - one of the driver for the trips. He speaks English and this was wonderful because we had a lot of questions.

SpainThe restaurant room is ugly and you can't eat outside. Breakfast is the same every day. There is a lack of good products like fresh juice (it's sort of Tang!), real coffee. There is no soul, you're seen as a customer only. Loud music one night. Very expensive because of a general lack of quality. It's a shame because the beautiful garden would deserve better standard.
Beautiful and peaceful garden and nice big room. The hot spring is nice and relaxing!

United KingdomThough the rooms are spacious and relatively clean, they are basic and really dated. WiFi is also practically none existing, so don't expect to be able to so anything of real significant with the WiFi.
Youssef, and the rest of the team, provided an excellent service. They really seem to enjoy providing an excellent service and making sure their guests feel welcomed and comfortable. They went up and beyond all what was necessary to ensure all things we needed were dealt with, even without us asking. I can say, with almost certainty, that it was one of the best services I've received in all the places I've stayed in Egypt (so far). The hotel is also well located as it takes about 10/15 min to get into town, and not far from the Salt Lakes either. It feels very remote and earthly with a beautiful pool and picturesque surroundings.

United StatesWe had such a lovely time during our stay in Siwa thanks to Youssef from the Siwa Shali resort. He really took care of our group of friends, made us feel at home, shared recommendations on where to go, organized an awesome night safari for us. It was truly a memorable experience. If we visit Siwa again, we would definitely stay here again

EgyptSiwa shali resort was excellent, the location is away from the city, it was calm and peaceful. Transportation was arranged to our preference. They have green areas everywhere. The staff is the friendliest, Yousef helped us plan our vacation and advised us what to do or visit together. Overall it was a great experience.

Czech RepublicOnly the one thing made our stay less comfortable, which is comunication with personal, there is big language barrier, most of personal spoke only arabic, so sometimes it was hard to get what we needed, but that is not actually that big problem, if you are creative and patient you will find your way..
The hotel is large and beautiful, calm in summer season, which was good for us, we had pool only for ourself. Pool is big and clean. The hotel has beautiful nature and nice water canal. Room is large, bathroom is clean, works well. The room has window sheilds and curtain, which makes room dark and really comfortable for sleep. Location is good, in calm part of Siwa (markets are only in center). The biggest plus was the dinner, you can order dinner for really nice price and the dinner is big, healthy and really tasty. We did enjoy it every time !

MalaysiaFar from city, need motorbike taxi. I can imagine, its very challenging to manage such a huge garden property with villas. But Bathroom not so clean at arrival. A bit poor lightening in the room. Nobody spoke english when arriving rather late at evening and they had not yet seen my booking in booking.com. internet in whole resort was l very weak over 2 days. Only simple whatsapp messages were possible. Pool on second day rather dirty.
Great garden resort. Very beautiful with the date palms. Excellent breakfast. Nice pool area to sit around. Manager at front desk very friendly and helpful.

TurkeyThe receptionist was very rude upon arrival. The WiFi wasn't working, the room was filthy and not clean at all, the service was awful, the bathroom was terrible. We spent only one night and we informed the hotel on the first day that we won't spend the second night after we saw how bad it was, they promised to refund us the second night which we didn't spend at the hotel, but they never did. Such a scam and a terrible experience.
