Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceEverything takes a lot of time, when you order food or drink, you can wait 1 hour even though you are the only one in the restaurant. The view was amazing the first day but then a big boat stayed in front of it for the rest of the stay (3days). So you couldn’t see the Nile anymore or the sunset even though you paid mostly for the view.. The food is not really good.
Great pool and very nice staff. The place was quiet, not a lot of tourist. Restaurant are empty. The cocktails are really good !

United StatesOld TVs, no Internet or method to connect for my own Netflix or Amazon prime account and all tv stations except CNN and BBC news in arabic or Dutch--this is not a complaint about the lack of English but the lack of technology wherein one's own foreign language becomes easily accessible via modern technology of WIFI and HDMI. I brought my own Amazon and roku devices but couldn't hook them up because the tvs didn't have that capability or wifi in the rooms.
Though the building isn't modernized with updates its spacious and clean amd cozy. The host Ayaa was extremely helpful and resourceful in helping, showing alternate rooms for a better stay amd even finding a portable wifi box to use in the room--the hotel should have updated tvs so this is not needed--on gp--as well as because it only solves part of the problem--i was able to use the wifi via my phone and iPad thank god--but still forced to watch CNN the whole entire time.. GermanyThe hotel could use an upgrade in their rooms. It was all very dated and used. The shower was more of a dripping experience rather than a normal shower - however, we also did not call housekeeping about that, so it could have maybe been fixed. Egyptian food was fine, everything else more sustenance than enjoyment, but if you order pizza in an Egyptian hotel, that's kinda on you. ;)
The staff was attentive and did their best, from the receptionists like Ali Moussa to the restaurant and housekeeping staff. We also booked private guides through the hotel, who provided great service. Lastly, the location directly by the Nile is the major advantage, with options of going on river cruises from the hotel.

BrazilThe restaurants are just reasonable (the service and food could improve). The wifi is very bad. It only works reasonably well in the lobby (there was no Wi-Fi signal in the room).
The staff is friendly. The hotel is good, but needs to be modernized. The breakfast is good.

MexicoThe hotel is located next to the nile, it has two pools that are a great to rest and chill out after a day of visiting the ruins around Luxor. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, we had a suite with an extra bed for our child. The buffet breakfast is very good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

SingaporeNot for light sleepers. Walls are thin and had to sleep with my noise cancelling earphones cause of neighbours partying into the night (it was 3rd day of Eid). Breakfast was one of the worse we had on our trip.
There is gated parking about 1 minute away from the hotel. Rooms are comfortable and clean.

IrelandThe lobby and outdoor areas are beautiful but the dining areas and bedroom were quite dated. Food offerings could be improved.
Lovely pool area and beautiful views of the Nile. The hotel put us in contact with Abdul who organised our trip to the Valley of the Kings, temples, boat ride on the Nile and an amazing hot air balloon trip. He organised our transport to and from the airport and was extremely helpful and efficient. I would recommend everyone interested in doing the above to ask the hotel to put you in contact with Abdul. He even organised our transport and excursions in Cairo and transport to and from the coast. Totally stress free and made us feel very well looked after and safe. Thank you Abdul!
