We stayed at the Old Nile Hotel for only one night, but the spot and service was truly amazing! Check-in was at 8am, but we messaged a few days earlier and asked if we can check-in for 2am because our flight was landing a little late and we didn’t want to get stuck outside for the night. Joda let us know there was no problem with that, and he happily greeted us a 2am. Joda was beyond an incredible host. Our room was perfect and tidy and the whole spot was really nice. He was extremely genuine and kind and we’d be beyond happy to stay at the Old Nile Hotel again, if we ever return to Luxor!

We loved the vibe of the place, the location, and the kindness of the staff, specifically from Joda. It was a great decision to stay in the west bank and even a better one to stay in this place.

I wish hotel had a warm blanket and shower head, but Considering prices and beautiful view, I don’t care so much.

Cons: - The bathroom while big has no ceiling separating it from the room, meaning all the steam from the shower will stay inside the room and well, you will hear all the noises from it - The shower drainage system was the worst we saw, I was moving the water with my feet to the drainage hole. Would recommend having some water brush to push the water to the hole as some other places had. - There was always a slight damp smell when we returned from our trip But overall we enjoyed our stay there and found it a relaxing place, we didn't have the breakfast there as it wasn't included on the price at the time.

The room was very quaint and in Nubian style, very cool, but it might not be for those who enjoy more comfortable stays. Pros: - Great location close to the private ferry(25EGP per person) or 10min walk from the public one (10egp) -Wonderful lake and garden, you can go around the lake in the row boat which was cool and fun - Staff was friendly and funny -Close to some really nice and affordable restaurants by the Nile

I wish there was given more arrention to keep the buildings and surroundings fresh and cleaner. Some areas feel neglected with half finished houses.

It was a very relaxed place with its little lake hidden away from the hussle of Luxor. It feels very authentic and homely and if you are looking for a special experience away from the boring hotels and empty apartments this place is for you. The staff are very friendly and will help you with all your needs. There is a few good restaurants around with an amazing view and vibe. Highly recommended it to start your journey on this side of Luxor which feels more relaxed.

We wanted a place to relax and continue exploring Luxor after we ended our Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor. This place had to be quiet, close to nature, and close to the attractions of Luxor. The very good reviews of The "Luxor Old Nile Hotel" encouraged us to book a night and so we did. Mr. Mustafa, the owner, called us after the booking to confirm with us the time of arrival and if we needed a shuttle or any assistance. As we entered the place we were amazed by the old Egyptian flair and by the quietness and peace and the very kind "Joudah" showed us 2 rooms and we chose the one with a private garden on the lake. We enjoyed our stay very much. The room had everything we needed and was comfortable and Joudah was there whenever we needed anything or had any questions. The small lake in front of the Old Nile Hotel was an amazing piece of Nature surrounded by Palms and Banana trees, where we enjoyed the view and the fresh air. They offered us 3 meals and the food was delicious. There was a small kitchen that we could use for free. There were also 2 small boats and Joudah told us we could use these boats for free to explore the lake. Mr. Mustafa, the owner, came to us and asked if we needed anything and gave us some tips about Luxor. We would have liked to stay longer if we hadn't had to travel further to Cairo, but we will surely come again to the "Old Nile Hotel" as soon as we visit Luxor again.

If you plan to pay in Egyptian pounds, you should account for a 40% price increase as the owner will apply the black market exchange rate (1€=55EGP instead of 34!!), which was a very unpleasant surprise for us and explains why we only gave 8/10.

The tags for what facilities this property offers are inaccurate. At the time of booking and reviewing, it had pretty much everything possible tagged as being there - e.g. hot tub and facing monument. They should review and correct these. Improvement opportunities: Fix the leaky air conditioner Replace or remove some of the broken outdoor furniture Repaint the walls of the room to show less of the rough cement patches Replace or repair the shower head which doesn't properly distribute the water

Clean sheets. Comfortable temperature, even without the air conditioner. Decent breakfast for $4. Joda who is wonderfully friendly and helpful was always around. The owner Moustafa was also friendly and interested in my wellbeing. It was fun to have lots of cats about and nice to have the garden area with a small lagoon. It's worth bearing in mind when booking this property that you're in a ground floor room that opens onto the communal garden area so don't be surprised if you occasionally spot an insect crawling along your floor. The room is very basic but has a small bathroom, a mini fridge and an air conditioner.

I had a wonderful stay at Luxor Old Nile Hotel. From pick-up to my last day, everyone was super friendly, welcoming and I felt at peace. The owner helped me to book tours and made sure they were top notch and exactly as I wished. The location is super relaxing with a lake, sunset views, possibility to fish, and in a quiet area. It’s just a minute away from the Nile bank with restaurants and views on the East bank. Thanks for making my stay in Luxor memorable!

It was unfortunate we had to sleep the first 2 nights in a different apartment.

After a busy 3 day stay in Caïro and a very, very, very long trainride😅, we arrived at the Old Nile hotel which we think is best described as an oasis of peace on the West bank of the Nile. Even though the first 2 nights we could not stay in the booked room due to some issues with the sanitary in our room, the staff made sure we had everything we needed. They arranged apartments close by where we could stay until the issue was fixed. The outdoor area of the Old Nile hotel was amazing due to the waterview, fishing possibilities and the relaxing atmosphere. Due to the open sitting area it was easy to connect with other travellers and the staff, which was really nice. The Old Nile crew made sure we got everything we wanted. If something was not available they jumped on the motorcycle to the market and got us what we asked for. Short said, the hospitality was more than great! Mostafa and the crew made sure we had everything we needed and wanted for every trip we made. They gave great tips about what to visit and were available 24/7 for questions or requests. We arranged some tours to the Valley of Kings, The tombs of Nobles and many more, which was amazing since the driver etc. all was arranged by Mostafa. This made touring to the sights very easy and relaxing! We definitely recommend staying at the Luxor Old Nile hotel!

Excellent location and peaceful atmosphere in Luxor :) best part is the owner and his family! We had some issue with our train and he helped us to arrange a new transfer in just 15 min! As two girls travelling solo we felt very safe knowing he would help us with any problem! Really recommended 😊
