This place is a slice of paradise, during our whole Egypt trip (hurghada, cairo, aswan, luxor) a lot of the places had awesome sites to see but the accomodation still had the noise and people trying to sell you stuff. Not Jewel Howard Carter! it feels like you are coming back home after a long day looking at all the amazing stuff around luxor and its position on the west bank has a great view of the nile and surrounding banana farms. We had to come back for a second stay after going to Cairo because we missed the quietness at Howard Carter. It can seem a little bit remote being in a small farming area but we had no troubles at all getting rides to the sites and into Luxor (indrive app was great). The bed was nice and soft and the food was also good at the hotel, we had breakfast twice and dinner once. Highly recommeded!

Beautiful small hotel. Breakfast is always plentiful with Egyptian foul, omelette and lots of dips. Very delicious food. Everyone and especially Mr Said, the manager, is super helpful with everything concerning tours and rides. Prices are reasonable. The hotel lies on the quieter West Bank. Taking the Hotel Tuctuc for 50 EGP to the ferry and then getting to the other side for 10 EGP is my preferred way to get to the city. Everything was easy and we enjoyed a relaxing week there.

The pizza on the menu is just bread with cheese and vegs on top and the dough was raw on top. We suggest to cook the dough with just some tomato sauce on top and then add the other toppings almost at the end of the cooking time so that the cheese melts and the dough is more edible. The price of the food was 2 times the average. I would lower the prices.

We loved the Jewel Howard Carter hotel. It was super clean, with new room forniture, sheets and buildings. Also, they changed the table clothes of the restaurant everyday. The food was good, but you need to like the Egyptian food. Two Belgian tourists did not like the "sandwich" bread because they expected the classic french baguette but actually they serve the the naan/pita bread. We like it so it did not bother us. The concierges were very nice, they upgraded our room for free because I contacted them the day before asking for a Nile view room. They did not have any problem with us booking directly a private boat or a car without passing through them. I really liked this professional way of working. This is how local economy flourishes. The biggest issue in Egypt is finding reasonable prices for services because EVERYBODY tries to do the middle men gaining money on behalf of poor drivers which receives practically nothing for their precious services. Also, they never asked for tips, that's why we left them the change when we payed the restaurant bill. To be even more professional I would suggest to put in the room a price list of car and boat tours with the direct contact of the drivers so the guests would not feel exploited. The location was amazing! Very fresh and quiet! The best place for bird watching if you walk south and reach the closest boath pier (50meters). I saw purple herons, hoopoes, and so on!

The wifi connection is weak and unstable, especially inside the rooms. It's better in social areas. I believe it's important to improve the coverage and speed of the service.

The staff is amazing, kind, and helpful. Mr. Sayid and Mr. Muhammad were extremely interested in providing a pleasant and comfortable stay. The rooms are big and clean. Additionally, other staff members such as Ahmed, Ali, Eltayed, and Khalid were really kind and always ready to help. The hotel is located on the West Bank, so it's far from the city center. However, the peaceful and calm environment you can experience there makes the trip worthwhile. They have their own farm so most of the food is organic directly to the dish.

Terrible coffee. First we were given Nescafe. On complaint, we were given "American coffee" only slightly better. We've had decent coffee in egypt, so we know it exists. Also terrible stale bread, especially the European stuff.

Helpful staff. Pleasant surroundings and building. Nice pool.

Wonderful hôtel with very sympathetic people! Room is very big and we'll equiped. Even if this hotel is not close to downtown, it allows to have a nice walk along the Nile and the view from the bedroom is really great. The restaurant is good, no need to go outside to eat. Very good choice

This place is amazing. So clean, comfortable and in a great village location yet only a short taxi ride to the numerous archaeological sites of the West Bank. The hotel manager and staff are so friendly, as are the local people. The hotel’s facilities such as swimming pool, jacuzzi and television with Netflix all worked 100%. It is very easy to arrange trips via the hotel and the restaurant’s food is great. A lot of the food is grown organically in their garden 👍. I highly recommend.

The hotel is a little far from the public ferry, which makes you sort of a captive of the local taxi drivers - but taxis is not overly expensive, and it is possible to rent bikes from various shops on the West Bank which you can take back to the hotel. So this is not really a criticism so much as something to be aware of before you arrive.

The food was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool was a plus, although I ended up not using it very much because there is so much to do/see in Luxor!

The location is right on the edge of the West Bank settlements . While this is good for visiting the tombs etc or peace and quiet, it is very isolated and it is not simple to go to other restaurants in the evening or get to the Ferry to the East bank under your own steam, which is what we like to do. However the hotel will arrange a tuctuc or taxi to get you to other places, so you can go out but it is not that easy.

A very beautiful and comfortable hotel. Rooms were a good size and kept clean daily. The place oozed comfort - the pool, the shaded terrace, the restaurant and the veg gardens leading down to the Nile. Most of all, the staff were so friendly - everyone had a smile and wanted to help. The restaurant food was very good and a beautiful setting, though everything on the menu was not always available.

Internet connection went on and off during our stay, and whilst it has not affected our pleasant stay at all, it might be upsetting for digital nomads

Beautiful, family run place, rooms are clean and as far as we could see, all with their own balconies. The hotel is on the West bank, off the beaten path but they can provide a driver. I highly recommend Mohammed, who drove us around for 3 days, was polite and extremely helpful. Special thanks to our host Mr Said who not just provided us with a delegated driver, but also organized us programs for our entire stay (sometimes in the night before a day requiring an early morning wake up). It’s like one big family there. The hotel staff will do what they can to make your stay great. If I go back, no doubt I will return back here. Their restaurant is unique, award winner as they grow most of their own vegetables and fruits and everything is organic. Just ask Mr Said and he will proudly walk you around, they do a fantastic job there. The staff will do its best to help you with everything they can, however they might speak broken English.

We had a brilliant four nights at the Jewel Howard Carter hotel. I stayed last year and brought friends back for the lovely peace, quiet and warmth of Luxor and a delightful stay, escaping the winter. The hotel is located on the west bank of Luxor, much quieter and surrounded by fields, with great views across the Nile from the rooftop terraces. Don't be put off by the location, the tuk tuk or car will get you there from the ferry at a very reasonable price. We hired bicycles to see the tombs and temples on the west side and it was great to have a swim when we got back. The pool is cold at this time of year but refreshing during the day. We had half board and everyday the breakfast and dinner were delicious. Lots of it and lots of variety. The authentic Egyptian meal the chef cooked on one night was exceptional. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful and can help with all sorts of trips. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the bathrooms spotless with lots of lovely hot water and great showers. Highly recommended. Thank you for looking after us so well.

All good. No issues! The morning prayers are far enough that it shouldn’t wake you up.

The people are soooo nice! Helpful. They gave me the best driver, Mohammed, wonderful. Always on time, kind, perfect. Saeed from the hotel, perfect host. The property is clean, pretty, they have all their banana trees, fruit and veg garden, no chemicals. And although it’s not in Luxor, it is peaceful and quiet, and they can arrange a driver (no uber in Luxor) for a readonable price. Aggirdable hit air balloon ride can be arranged. Pretty swimming pool but of course in January it’s cold! But you can brave it as some did. Bed was comfortable. Slept very well. I would go back there if ever there again. The people in that village are the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Thanks to all for a most wonderful stay.
