Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

QatarNo kettle, I had to ask for one and it was full of residue, no welcome water bottle! The room needs maintenance as many things are falling apart, the chair, the fabrics were staind!

United KingdomIt is a shame that the hotel doesn't provide some complimentary drinking water in the room. Although the room is provided with " Please make up my room" notice to hang on the door nothing actually happens unless you inform reception that you would like this. Perhaps this information could be passed on at check in. The shower area is rather grubby and in need of refurbishment.
The hotel has a great location just a short walk from the Temple of Seti 1. It is peaceful and quiet. The rooms are situated around a clean pool with seating areas and loungers. Our room was spacious and reasonably comfortable with attached bathroom and a lovely large balcony where we could sip ice cold beer and watch the sun go down. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and helped us to organise our onward journey. The buffet breakfast was good and staff very helpful. The dinner choice was rather limited but the food was also good.

Belgium-strangely i had problems with mosqueto's in the room, strang because the door and windows were always closed. I killed 3 and they still drove me crazy at night. So better bring something, because there is no Vapona in the room. -the breakfast was okay, but i expected more choice for this "more expensive" hotel. -Wifi in the room was good when connected, but also was disconnected many times. -the most annoying is something i see in many updated Hotelrooms, everytime i showered the bathroom flooded. There is nothing to clean it up with. And i do mean the whole floor was soaking wet, very dangerous since the whole room has tiles, i almost slipped a few times. (Again modern bathrooms in hotels in Egypt have this problem, but this was the worst till now. There is a drain in the floor, but the water went everywhere, except in the drain)
The rooms are great and comfortable. The facilities are amazing. Its probably 1 of the most visualy impressive hotels i have seen inland away from the coast.

EgyptRooms are not very clean and need renovation. Breakfast is OK but cooked food should be more fresh. Dinner is not very tasty.

AustraliaBeing 3 star a bit too pricey. From room to food, a bit overpriced. Far from the airport and the road was quite bumpy. The condition of the room and toilet was not very clean. It was dusty and dirty. There were no amenities provided in rooms, just basic room.
It was the only reasonable hotel in Sohag/Abydos It was secured, you felt safe staying there. The staff was helpful.

United KingdomRoom dirty, staff inept, stairs everywhere - vastly overpriced.
The location was ideal and on first glance the hotel also appeared great. But it did not deliver. *STAIRS! No lifts. Two flights down from reception and every room involved at least one more flight. Ours was three flights to our room from pool level. Terrible with luggage and no lift at all. *Room appeared nice but cleanliness was poor. Dust in all corners, carpet grubby, bathroom sloppily cleaned with no attention to detail. *On checking in reception did some very odd maths with the room bill. As is usual in Egypt prices are listed in other currencies. On our Booking.com reservation we had the amount quoted in Sterling. The hotel wanted to charge us in USD then convert to Sterling then to Egyptian pounds. Which would have added 1/3rd more onto our bill. *The Restaurant is like something from Fawlty Towers. First they ignored us, then the smiled and nodded as we asked for a menu. I had to chase them around the restaurant to get a copy of the menu. The staff kept disappearing into the back. Finally we managed to order (set menu, soup, salad, about 5 main choices and dessert) and asked for tray service to our room. When it arrived no cutlery. So three flights down, two up and it took three staff members about 8 minutes to give me cutlery and napkins. Food OK. The choices to stay in Abydos are limited but this hotel is overpriced and despite looking nice it does not deliver. I rarely write reviews but for this I make an exception. The Temple is spectacular but if you can skip the hotel.

United StatesBreakfast was extraordinary, but dinner was only so-so. Exchange rate at hotel was not as good as elsewhere.
Very good breakfast and a very nice pool. Pretty much the only tourist hotel for a good distance in any direction. Arranged for car to Red and White Monastery and on to Minya thru the desk clerk. Within walking distance of Abydos Temple Complex.
