Maybe the bed linen is a little bit outdated. There was not curtin in the shower.

The host, Mahmoud was super friendly and tried to accommodate to us in the best way. He upgraded us to a room with private toilet for free. Location is good, close to the train station and in a local suburb. Wifi worked perfect in our rooms.

It's not their fault, but unfortunately my room was very noisy due to nearby mosques and a very agitated street. I slept with earphones, so not a major issue for me in the end. The internet was not working very well from my room.

The location is very good, the staff is very supportive, the activities they recommended were also amazing. The room was big and clean.

There is a shared kitchen. Wifi was good and reached our room. The shared baths have plenty of hot water and were mostly clean. The staff is OK and doesn't try to sell you tours, etc.

Great hospitality, perfect hostel for solo travelers, couples or small groups of friends. All personnel was very kind and helpful. Simple, good price and good location for east side of Luxor. I couldn't sleep at all because of noise of motorbike riding like as if they are purposefully to awake me from sleep. Its didn't stop till morning. Second day I escaped from there earlier than my check out because of this annoying noise. So whoever seeking soundless sleep please avoid this.

The employees are great! and the facilities met my expectation. The sign board of the Hotel kept in the corner, it make easier to find out. The name board kept clear in front of the hotel. I've checked in at 11 pm.

Second time I stayed here, they didn’t honour my booking. The had given my room to someone else. That asked me for more money. I refused to pay more and eventually after a few hours they gave me a dirty room very reluctantly. It was hugely stressful !

Hotel is walking distance from Railway station. Mahmoud the owner is a gem. He have all the solutions available with him for the visits in Luxor. He arranged for my family hot balloon with cheapest price.

SCAMMERS. The hostel, besides accommodation, also offers tours. We took a full day tour, with east and west sides and a guide, entrance fees not included. The MAXIMUM price for this is 600 Egyptian pounds (18 dollars or euros). But they charged us 30 euros (almost 1000 Egyptian pounds per person) At first they asked 60 €. The hostel’s owner asked us not to tell anyone the amount, since the real price was much more, Don't get fooled!! They even tried to charge us 2000. There were other people doing exactly the same tour and we were the ONLY ones that paid that amount. When I went to the hostel, I asked how is this possible, they started blaming the tour guide, (the tour guide knew nothing about this) but if that was right, why did the receptionist try to charge us 2000 in the beginning?! They were just lying. They said they would give us a solution, but they did nothing. They gave me a koshari plate which I appreciated but that is not worth the extra 400 pounds that we paid. I told them I would write THE REAL PRICE on the internet, so that they don't fool anyone else again. Scammers and liars!!!

The wifi wasn't working at all! It was even not possible to load one website. Just messaging was possible. Also after asking several times to fix it, wifi stayed bad as it was. The matraces were hard like stones and also the pillows. It was crazy noisy because of the call of the muezzin at 5am!

It was nice that we had a small balcony even if without chairs. We could use an electric kettle and there were many information on the board in the hotel.

The Fontana Hotel is a nice family run hotel. It has a good location in the middle of Luxor, it is clean and quite as there is no traffic out side. The manager and staff are friendly and helpful. A good place to stay in Luxor.
