Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Sri LankaBeds were a little hard but rooms were nice and big.
Lovely setting in the garden. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony. There is food served in the hotel or we also walked 50m down the road and found lots of cafes on the nile. We booked a hot air balloon trip through the hotel for cheaper than other sites online.

Irelandit's slightly older hotel, but that being said, it's kept so well, and we were very happy and comfotable there, a liitle oasis in busy luxor, and we were grateful to be on the west side after we visted the busy east, it so much more chill
Its got this retro vibe, but honestly so much carachter, and the gardens are just lovely in the centre, birds all around, so beautiful.

GermanyI wish we could have put the items we bought on our room and paid one-time at check out. It was also common to have power outages during the day so plan accordingly. The pool has a divider between the shallow and deeper end which is blue and rubbed off onto our swimsuits…
Our group of 6 people rented two two-bedroom apartments for 3 nights. It was a lush & peaceful oasis on the West Bank of the Nile (about 10 min walk from the river taxi). My kids loved the pool, service was polite & helpful, and food from an onsite restaurant was above average. They sold beer/wine so we didn’t need to go to the market for these items. The property outsourced laundry service for 10 EGP per piece and everything came back clean and in relatively good shape (although later than anticipated due to a storm). The hotel owner was onsite daily and spoke (at minimum) Arabic, English, & German fluently

United KingdomRoom cleaners were excellent and talented towel folders - expect swans and other characters to greet you! Towel and linen changes were a little unpredictable but these were minor matters in an otherwise enjoyable stay
The hotel is located on a side street on the West Bank only a couple of hundred metres from the river where there are plentiful boats to get you across to the more commercialised and developed city of Luxor. The hotel is full of character set in beautiful gardens. The staff are great and go out of their way to be helpful. Along the river bank there were a number of cafes serving light meals and fresh juices - an ideal way to pass a couple of hours watching the world go by on the river. Good breakfast available from around 6 am to 1030 on a self service buffet with eggs cooked to order. We enjoyed the Egyptian Night buffet, whirling Dervish (complete with spectacular LED costume) and Nubian dancers. The roof top restaurant was satisfactory with good service and reasonable prices. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment which also had a small seating area and a generous sized balcony overlooking the garden. Would recommend asking for a 1st floor room to appreciate the garden views. There is a large roof top seating and sunbathing area. The free WiFi internet was generally adequate for streaming sound, sending photos etc but occasionally a little temperamental.

United KingdomIt's a lovely hotel. There is a bar area, the pool area, roof terrace, nice room for breakfasts in the mornings (which are brilliant, and we had different options each day). On Sundays their restaurant serves authentic Thai food, which was lovely, and the hotel is such an oasis. It's in a great spot, so close to the Nile on the West bank. The West bank is quite 'unfinished' from a Western perspective, so just to give a heads up on the area. Initially it seemed a little unsettling to us, but once you settle in you'll see it's all fine. The staff here were brilliant, and we had a little welcome drink on arrival. Thank you to everyone who works at El Gezira, it is beautiful. It's also very conveniently located for all of the ancient sites on the West Bank! A short drive away.

United KingdomIt's located on a nice quiet street very close to the river where you can get motor boats or the ferry over to the east bank. The hotel is centered around a lovely peaceful garden with a swimming pool which is a great place to relax. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They arranged for us transport for day trips to sites around the west bank and onward travel to Aswan when we were leaving.

United KingdomNothing to dislike.
This is a really charming boutique hotel set in very pleasant gardens. The location is excellent, only a few yards from the West Bank of the Nile, where it's easy to get the public ferry to visit Luxor Temple and Museum. There are also plenty of private ferries for visits to Karnak. It's also easy to get a taxi for visits to the many sites around the Valley of the Kings. The hotel has a pool, and rooftop areas for sunbathing. The restaurant serves breakfast and dinner and there is a pleasant bar. The food is simple but good. All the staff very very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomThe mattress in our particular room was very firm, to the point that we had to place the duvet on top and lie on that in order to get comfortable, but nobody else appeared to have that issue with theirs. We did have to request new towels a few times, but it wasn't a big deal really. As non smokers ourselves other guests smoking in public areas, ie. the bar didn't go down too well, but I'm guessing that the laws in Egypt are different to ours in this respect.
Having already stayed in an all inclusive on the Red Sea and spent a week on a Nile Cruise this was a welcome wind down. A small family run place with fewer guests was just what the doctor ordered. We specifically chose the position on the West Bank because we wanted to visit the Tombs and Temples on this side and also take a hot air balloon trip. On days when we just wanted to chill out the roof terrace was the ideal spot to enjoy a freshly squeezed mango juice and take in some rays. The buffet style breakfast was adequate, but I think we had been spoilt with the choice and quality of our first hotel. However the lunch and dinner menu was fabulous, with plenty of traditional Egyptian and European options available (great for veggies like me). The portions were extremely generous too. The instant hot water system in all of our bathrooms was brilliant, with good water pressure and water as hot as you like. This is a blessing as the evenings cool down very quickly in winter. The hotel offers a very good value and efficient laundry service which I think deserves a mention.

GreeceWe had a great stay at el Gezira garden hotel! We were hesitant to stay on the West Bank and we were proven wrong since that side of Luxor is more authentic and worth to stay. The apartment was really clean and super comfy, and the decor was cute and warm with a traditional touch. The staff was friendly and we loved spending time in the garden and on the adorable terrace. The hotel is definitely value for money and highly recommended!

United KingdomThe location, though quite nice which is very near to the west bank of the river nile, the main city is in east bank. If you have small children and aged people with you, this may be a bit of a hindrance to visit the city. There is no foot bridge to go across the banks. Only ferries and boats are available.
Everything was awesome from checkin to checkout experience. The rooms are spotlessly clean. The food was delicious. The staff were courteous and very helpful, especially the manager Mr. Mohammed took great care of us. My children enjoyed the swimming pool. We were delighted to get breakfast boxes on our checkout as it was very early morning. We loved our stay at El Gezirah Garden.

Democratic Republic of CongoI created a very intense tour of Egypt for my family. We were all exhausted when we arrived to the El Gezira. The hotel and our room was a lovely surprise. We got a family room so we could all be together. The kids cooled off in the pool. I slept better here than anywhere else on our trip. I’m sad we didn’t get a chance to stay longer. The food was great!
