Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe place is well located, the rooms and the beds are big, I had AC on my room. It was truly comfortable. The location is ideal because you walk everywhere, you get tuk tuk right in front of the door. The managers/ owners have organized tours if you like or you design your own tour with the “house driver “ who is a “Habibi”!! ( He went to pick me up, on his own iniciativa, when he realized an outside tuk tuk driver had left me in a place. I highly recomend the Hostel!

TaiwanDuring my stay there's one day that the pump is broke, so we were out of water, that was terrible but I believe it's unusual and the staff did his best, we got water next day. So I would say everything was quite ok.
It's hostel but not bunk bed, you get your own bed.

United StatesI had the most amazing hostel experience ever! The place is super clean and conveniently located. But what really makes it special is Abdal, the owner. He's an absolute gem! Such a warm and welcoming person who made the place feel like home. Plus, he helped us organize all our tours at really reasonable prices. I can't recommend this place enough! 😊🌟

IndiaThe bed is huge and very comfortable. Its more like 2 people sharing 1 room rather than the hostel. so it was very quiet and comfortable during night. Room is with balcony and also they provide free laundry. The hotel has a very good vibe, u really meet people and travel around together. Good breakfast is the plus and also such a sweet host offers dinner for guests. ❤️ My stay was very comfortable and the hostel provided everything i needed

MaltaNothing really! All was good!
This hostel is located in the busy centre of Siwa very close to Shali Fortress and other attractions close by, lots of good restaurants, and lots of shops for snacks, groceries etc. The hostel itself feels more like a hotel, the rooms are very spacious, with only 2 beds in each room (perfect to get a good night sleep), beds are very comfortable, showers and toilets were always clean, with very nice showers and good water pressure! The owner Abdalla is one of the best persons you'll meet! He's very honest and treats everyone like friends!

AustraliaHad such a an amazing stay with Abdalla. He is extremely welcoming and hospitable. He instantly makes the place feel like your home. He’s very social and is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. this place felt more like a hotel, with only two beds in the dorm, the other bed being unoccupied during my stay. It is very clean, there’s a kitchen you can use and he makes you a delicious breakfast every morning. I am so happy I got to stay here.

GermanyI was totally happy. Breakfast is very minimal though but that's expected for the price. I didn't use the kitchen but it never seemed the cleanest.
Not really a hostel but more of a two bedroom apartment with two beds each and you pay per bed. But that gave me almost a whole apartment to myself for the price of a dorm room. Host is very nice and friendly.

This is by far the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in, simplicity makes it GREAT, Abdalla is the best host ever, he will prepare delicious breakfast for you every morning or share his own food with you, he’s always there to help and assist, if you have any questions or need something do not hesitate to ask him, I slept like a baby every night, there’s AC, fan, balcony, well illuminated room, washer machine, it has the best location in Siwa, I met great people there, 100 out of 100 for sure, thank you Abdalla for being so kind !!

AustraliaIt's a bit noisy until midnight due to the cars. The electricity was off when I used the hair dryer😭
WITH AIR-CONDITIONER! I lived in no AC room in Alexandria and Marsa Matruh, so I am surprised to see AC in my lovely room. The doona is thin so it's make me feel cool and comfy. They offer bath towel as well. There is a clean balcony for drying clothes. The host prepared a early and good breakfast for our early tour. All in all, it's a decent place to stay.

Abdallah is the best host, he is so friendly and makes sure everything you want or need is organized for you. He even joined us to watch the sunset on top of the Shali fortress which is literally 3 min walk away. The location is just perfect for accessibility around town and to see everything you need to in Siwa. They have working A/C and fans so you can escape the unbearable heat outside. Beds were big and comfy. We enjoyed lovely local siwi tea with Abdallah and some other guests. It was perfect stay. Thank you Al Manara. ❤️

the owner of the hostel is such a passionate person about what he is doing. He treated the guests as friends, providing helpful information about the visit and he even drove me around when he is free. Breakfast is included which is nice and convenient. He cooked dinner with delicious chicken and local black tea. Facilities are provided including air conditioner. I highly recommend staying here when you visit Siwa.
