Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryI'm reducing the rate a bit because I booked a triple room, but when I got there they gave us 2 double rooms. They were really new but not what I have booked. Also there was no wifi so we decided to all stay in the same room, and for that they added an extra bed to 1 of the rooms. It was quite comfortable but a bit tight. In the end everything worked well, but it was not ideal since we initially booked the triple room and wanted to keep it that way.
The place is really nice, a bit far from the center but they provide a free boat transfer to the other side. The food was very tasty, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. It was also really nice to enjoy the pool with a nice view of the Nile.

NetherlandsThe flies in the restaurant were annoying, otherwise everything was great! some trouble with the shower resulted in cold water. It took a while to get solved
Having a hotel on the west bank is an excellent way to have quiet nights. The bungalows are great, colorful and with spacious beds. A real oldfashioned safe to keep your valuables. The boat to cross the Nile to Luxor city (on the east bank) was always on call and when returning, a quick call, 5 minute wait and you were back into the peace and quiet of the hotel. The restaurant clearly caters to locals, with a healthy style breakfast buffet with yoghurt, many greens and pita bread, eggs on request. Evening meal is generally either fried fish/meat in a tomato/vegs ovendish or chicken in the same ovendish. If you do not like tomatoes, do NOT go to Egypt!

GermanyThere was absolutely nothing I didn't like about this place, except that we would have loved to spend more time in beautiful Luxor! Ah - well there was one thing: The shower didn't provide hot water. Not a big thing at temperatures around 40 degrees celsius, but someone may not like showering at 25 degrees water temperature...
Al Baeirat Hotel is indeed a little Oasis in Egypt.... At Luxor's West Bank, directly on the shores of river Nile, a small number of Nubian style huts with a private little garden attached offer privacy and a sense of ownership. Staff are very helpful and friendly and even though committed 24/7, they all provide a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Free transfer by boat between the hotel and downtown Luxor is available around the clock upon call. The little restaurant offers a variety of tasty homemade food — a great breakfast, snacks for lunch and a diverse selection of dishes for dinner. All meals combine elements of the Egyptian and Western cuisine. Drinks (water, soft drinks, beer and a small selection of Egyptian wines) are also available, a specialty is the Turkish style coffee. The hotel offers a small pool perfectly suitable for a quick refreshment. Upon request, bicycles are available for rent, and the famous sights of the area (valley of the kings, valley of the queens, Hatshepsut temple - each approximately 8 km away one way) can be explored easily by bicycle! I lived for four years in Egypt, but this hotel was by far the nicest I ever had!

United KingdomNothing - only regret didn’t book more days
Amazing find on booking.com and highly recommended. Superb location overlooking the Nile and the right side for the Valley of the Kings and Queens and other sites. If you want to go to the East side a quick boat trip across the Nile for the Temples. Away from the bustle of the city and noise, feels very surreal swimming in their pool next to the Abilene. Had a lovely sunset cruise free from the hotel. Food was good, highly recommend the curry. Spacious cottages felt totally relaxed.

United KingdomOne thing that would make this excellent hotel even better would be more vegetarian meal options.
This is a lovely place with spectacular views over the Nile. The rooms are in very nice separate bungalows, which provides privacy and quiet, and the pool is lovely. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel provides free boat transfers across the Nile on demand. On one night there was a free one-hour sunset cruise which was a very nice touch. They also organised a sunrise balloon ride which was magical.

FranceIt is complicated to arrive to the hotel by car. it is better to arrange a transfer from the east side! and the wifi doesn’t work in the rooms.
This hotel makes you have an amazing immersion in the rural part of Luxor, as the hotel is located in the west part of Luxor. It has rooms totally traditional, excellent food and a natural environment. The staff was so kind always open to help, even there was include for free a transfer by boast between the hotel and the east part of Luxor in anytime! we really enjoy our staying here!

Small structure of twelve bungalows on the edge of the west bank which guarantees calm away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The shuttle boat available allows you to move at will between the two shores. the included breakfast is simple but very correct. there might be more change from day to day. some pastries would be appreciated. the owner and the staff are particularly welcoming and always very available. the hotel can organize the reception at the airport but also tours with a guide (do it a little in advance for French-speaking guides).

TurkeyEverything! absolutely everything is great! The peace that you feel is amazing; no noise, not too many people, amazing food and amazing staff. Plus, the Bungalows are lovely. The owner and all the staff are friendly and willing to help, the cleaning staff leaves a lovely towel made animal form on your bed; they offer tours and they have their own boat that takes you to the East Bank. The view is amazing too, we are absolutely happy and satisfied with the place. Thanks a lot!!!
