Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe hotel does not have a reception and a dining area; the rooms are not cleaned daily, and the bathrooms had only 2 small soaps; the water in the pool was freezing and the yacuzzi was not working. The hotel did not accept credit cards, so we had to go to the ATM to get cash.
The breakfast was good; the internet worked fine and the TV had Netflix, etc.; the water in the shower was excelent. Some of the staff were friendly.

EcuadorI went to this location to soak in the hot tub however it wasn't working and wasn't fixed during my stay. No refund was offerred. Breakfast was basic, nothing exceptional.
Good location near the Tia store and within walking distance of central Montanita. It was also quiet at night.

CanadaThere were a lot of mosquitoes and other biting bugs in our room so we were badly bitten. The bug spray helped some but should have been sprayed before we got there.
Close to the main streets. Staff were good, breakfast was good but didn’t start until 8am so we missed out on some.

United StatesThe property is not located where it is shown on the map in Booking! We only stayed for the first night of our three night reservation because the location is not where it is advertised, and location was an important deciding factor of where we wanted to stay. Not sure if this is intentional marketing deception or just a mistake. You can find the correct location in Google Maps.

United KingdomNo furniture to place our clothes in the bedroom, the bathroom also lacked some fittings to place our toiletries or to hang wet towels, the noise at nighttime from the restaurant, swimming pool areas was a bit annoying but you get used to I guess if you stay long enough.
The location, not too far from town or too close to hear loud music or people The staff, Tony is a great guy, very helpful and accomodating, shame he wasn't there when we left to give him a good tip.
