Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesAt first when we arrive a loud dog was barking a lot. but by the time we returned from our cruise to stay again, Joselne had solved the problem with some ingenuity (hanging an ultrasonic device in yard of uncooperative dog owners/neighbors)

From the moment I arrived, Joseline and her staff took care of me. The location was 3 or 4 blocks from the main strip, which made it quieter. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are large and had a big balcony. I want to level set for people. If you are expecting 5 star glammer, this is island life in a simple way done extremely well. The bathroom was large with great water pressure. The room was impeccably clean. Breakfast was good. No matter what stupid question I had, Joseline answered. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

United StatesGreat Place to stay in Puerto Ayora. Close to the center with all the restaurants and piers. Hotel is safe and located in a side street. Area is very quiet. Beds are comfy, rooms are big, Wifi and airconditioning works great. Owners are really friendly and helpful! Breakfast is amazing. Unfortunately we could stay only one night. Would like to have stayed longer there.

United StatesOur room was very nice but right by the door and breakfast seating, it would be nice to have the option to choose a balcony or hammock or outdoor seating. (not a complaint we loved the room!)
What a great place to stay! The owner Josy was lovely, kept communication with us before and during the stay. Breakfast was great every morning and she cleaned our room while we were gone during the day. There is drinking water available too. Josy arranged us a taxi to and from the airport and gave local recommendations. Location is right in town, walking distance to everything. Rooms are cute, clean, spacious with amenities. We would definitely stay here again!

She was always extremely helpful and ready to answer any question or help us out. She prepared a really delicious breakfast every morning and checked that everything was going well.

The accommodation at Hotel Galapagos Suites was fantastic! We had a large, comfortable room on the third floor with a terrace. The bed was very large and cozy, the room was impeccably cleaned, the A/C was strong, the shower was excellent and the bathroom amenities were generous and smelled delicious. The location was great, just five minutes walk from the town center. But most importantly, the owner Jocelyn was so warm and kind. She provided us with a lovely breakfast, great advice and made us feel very welcome. We would highly recommend a stay here. Jocelyn recommended we walk to Tortuga Bay beach and it was really worth it, very beautiful !

United StatesOur room was at the ground level so we had no view, and we had to keep the curtains shut for privacy otherwise anyone walking into the yard would be able to see inside the room.
Owners were amazing in paying attention to the guests, providing information, and accommodating their needs. They made us feel as if we were their only guests.

United StatesSome of what I did not like were actually part of the way things are in that area. While the location was only three blocks from the single main road of the town, it was on the far end from where most things occurred, although closest to the Darwin Center.
The owner/operator was particularly helpful during the stay. The place is nice and secure and not too far away from the center of town. Breakfast was good and there was even a bagged breakfast on the day I had to leave before breakfast.

United StatesBeautiful, spacious and very comfortable rooms with attention to detail we did not see at other hotels on the islands, e.g., different firmness pillows to choose from, lamps on both sides of the bed, and a drying rack on the balcony to hang wet swimsuits and such. The staff is highly professional and very friendly. Liz and Joseline went above and beyond to make our stay at the hotel and in the Galapagos the best.

United StatesOccasional street noise but nothing earplugs can't drown out.
Liz was an excellent host and breakfast chef. The additional personnel were always gracious. We had a spacious room and bathroom. There were bathroom/shower facilities available if needed after checkout (9a). Honestly, I'd rather be there instead of the small yacht we're currently on! We we're only there one night but managed to make time to visit las grietas.

United StatesThe in-room safe was somewhat tiny. However, Puerto Ayora is fairly crime-free, so we felt safe not using it.
The Hotel Galapagos Suites B&B was amazing. It was one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. Our room was on the 2nd floor and spacious with a sitting area, a gigantic king bed, and balcony with cute hammock and drying rack for wet bathing suits. Upon our arrival, the hotel proprietor Josseline gave us a short orientation and a map of Puerto Ayora to help orient us to the town. There was a purified water dispenser outside our door that we filled our bottles with. The hotel location was superb as it was in a quiet area but only a short 5 min walk to the main strip. No detail in the room was overlooked: the bathroom included luxury toiletries and a jug of purified water for toothbrushing, there was a luggage rack for each of our suitcases, and the bed had three different types of pillows for each sleeper (flat, plump, and feather). We slept soundly as it was so quiet. The delicious breakfast (included in our rate) included a freshly cut fruit plate, homemade lemon bread and other breads, freshly squeezed juice, and eggs cooked to order by Josseline. We ate in the picturesque hotel courtyard. Josseline also lent us towels for use on our snorkeling tour to North Seymour Island. When we had to leave at 6 am on the day of our departure to make the early morning ferry to Isabela Island, Josseline provided us with bagged breakfast with freshly baked chocolate cakes, pears, and juice boxes.
