Nothing to complain about!

Loved this hostel and extended to a week when I initially only had 3 nights booked. The volunteers are the best and create a super inclusive and chilled atmosphere that's fun too. They have free mozzie nets and brekky and a super well equipped kitchen, loved it here and was hard to leave!

i have nothing bad to say, if I’m really reaching maybe kitchen could be slightly updated but it had everything I needed and I’m not at all disappointed. i wish I had booked an extra night here instead of staying in puerto López

Not seeing more of Lena's tricks:(

Upon arrival I was greated by Lena and her magic tricks. They were truely amazing and without a doubt one of my highlights of Monenita, if not whole Ecuacdor. The magic show will leave you stunned and I can assure you will only think about possible solutions, on how her tricks work. She is the modern Hudini!!!

I had booked for 5 days and ended up staying for 10. Great communal areas for meeting new friends plus a great terrace to pair with the free coffee. I’d recommend this place for backpackers and regular travellers

The location to the beach is amazing, just a few steps and you are on the beach! I also spent a lot of time on the terrace enjoying the view from a hammock. I would often take my breakfast up there and see whales in the sea. I like that they have a kitchen that you can use and the staff are really friendly.

Everything was great!

Everything was excellent!! The close proximity to the beach, the beautiful view from the terrace, great wifi on all floors to work remotely and a nice little kitchen to make your own meals. An excellent option for a hostel if you want to come to Montanita to Surf for a while, meet people from all over the world, and do the occasional nite out to town to party.

Esperanto Hostal is a great location if you wanna meet people for chatting or just hang out. The house is great, it has some private rooms and dormitorios. The little garden is nice for having breakfast, the rooftop is just amazing. You have a great view to the ocean and can spot some whales or just hang up there in hammocks. It's just 5 minutes walk to the city center where you can find everything needed. To Olon it takes 10 minutes by taxi and costs 1.50$. The beach is just on front of the hostal, a 2 mintes walk. You can go surfing or just chill on the beach. I loved staying in Esperanto Hostal and if I could have stayed longer, I definitely would have stayed there. Johnny and all volonteers are super helpful, provide information and help you in all question. The breakfast was included (bread, butter, jam, oatmeal, fruits, tee, cafe). Muchas gracias!

This place was heaven! The staff are super friendly, the rooms are really clean and the beds were big and comfortable. The roof terrace was amazing to sit and work/chill (mostly chill) with amazing views of the ocean and sunset. Would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to meet nice people outside of a party hostel (party hostels are just down the road for you to hand out in so you get the best of both worlds)

It was perfect! The rooms were very clean and not too small, every room also has a terrace which add a lot especially if you have an ocean view The best part was Rocke, the manger who really made the hostel feel like home he was there for every little thing 24/7 always made sure everything is okay and gave me the best hosting experience

I loved the property, comfortable bed, sea view from balcony, hot showers, free coffee and drinking water, attentive staff (rocky) was a fantastic host, really cares about this hostel and it’s guests, I stayed during the week, it was quiet and peaceful, super close to the beach and far enough away from town, I’d definitely stay again without question. My stay was great! The hostel has a super cool vibe, the stuff is always willing to help you out. It is the kind of environment where you can create nice human connections. The breakfast was delicious and the location excellent (close to the beach and at 5 minutes walking from the city "party area" (so quiet at night). The hostel was clean and its terrace very lovely.

Location was excellent! The staff are amazing. The facilities are great with lots of character. Clean. Centrally located. About a one minute walk to the beach. I was there on a Saturday so I was able to have breakfast which was perfect. The bed was super comfortable. Wi-Fi works great in every area the Hostel. I would definitely recommend this place. It’s close to everything and with the staff being so wonderful it’s worth every cent.

Really everything was amazing! There were no hand towels or hand soap in our bathroom, but that is a very small thing.

The staff here were so nice and helpful! And it’s right by the beach. On Saturday there was a dinner for the guests that was only $7 for a ton of food.
