$10 deposit for towels and key but they is obviously a reason for this. Communal kitchen was hard to find, had to ask twice where it was. We ate dinner out and brought some food back to have for lunch the following day. We put the food in the communal fridge in the kitchen but someone had taken it the following day. When talking to a couple in the hostal the same thing had happen with their food. This is not the responsibility of the hostel to protect food in a communal fridge but it was a shame that this happened at least twice in 24 hours.

Great location, secure. Several friendly cats roaming around. Entrance is by a locked door that you press the door bell for the gate to be unlocked. Nice simple breakfast of tea/coffee, & juice. Eggs, homemade bread and fruit. Huge bed and private bathroom in the private room. There is a kitchen to make your own food and also a reception room with tables and chairs, sofas, bar and small restaurant and pool table so a nice combo of do it yourself or cheap bar/restaurant. Comfy hammocks outside to relax in and a huge free car park, again behind a big secure gate.

Nice community room with restaurant and billard table. It's very easy to meet other travellers. The staff is very friendly and the offered activities were great. Very good location.

The 12 person dorm wasn't equipped well. Nothing to place clothing on in the 1 small shower that also had the only toilet in the dorm. Only few of the beds had nightstands and there was no garbage can. It felt as if they cramped as many beds as possible into a room. For the price I think there's much better options in Baños.

Location is superb. Staff, breakfast and the common room are very nice

The noise. There were dogs and roosters barking pretty much every night and morning. I suppose that's what you should expect being at a budget friendly hostel just outside of the downtown area. But one morning there was a guy at the property building a sign, hammering away at 6am as if it was the middle of the day. Didn't love that.

Great communal space. Super friendly staff. Awesome support for travelers wanting recommendations. Laundry was prompt with no missing socks or underwear. Well located just a short walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the hot baths.

I couldn't give 10 stars because you couldn't lock the bathroom door, and that was a bit annoying in a five person dorm. But that must have been just this room, because there was a lock and someone who had to switch rooms for unrelated reasons said that in the other room you could lock it. Also, the wifi was too slow and sometimes wouldn't work. It worked most of the time, though. Otherwise it was a great place to stay.

It's really well decorated and looks just like in the pictures. Breakfast was good. The location was pretty good, center is very close and you can also walk there from the bus terminal. They had lots of cakes and other things available at the bar. Also lots of activities to do there or to book, plus a small library of books and games that were in good condition.

Vanessa, behind the bar at breakfast can be very rude and unfriendly; she needs to change her attitude. Christian was very negative about other towns such as Riobamba and Alausí but I'm glad I did them as they were well worth a visit. Just think travellers seek advice from locals or people who've been so when it's so negative, it could alter your trip plans! Dorms of 5 only have a tiny, lidless bin in the bathroom so you can imagine how full they get and they're only emptied once after check out time! Never hot water, spoke to a staff member who apparently changed the gas but still didn't work! Questionable security- a girl who checked out of the dorm was constantly re-entering the room.

Great for socialising, with a decent breakfast included. Well known hostel with good, local suggestions. Accessible Kitchen. If you want a cheap, good time and willing to sacrifice on cleanliness, stay here!

The blanket was a bit too heavy for the climate and the portion of the window that opened wasn't the biggest so we found it a bit hot for sleeping.

Our room didn’t have a glass window in the bathroom, just a netted vent. so could hear a lot of noise from the communal area at night
