Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNo problem for me as I was on the second floor but note that there are 7 floors and no lift. You may have to pay by cash if your card doesn't work and that rate may be more than the rate you were quoted.
Friendly and helpful staff who speak some English. Central location. Pleasant room. Free breakfast and coffee all day long. Free water. Good small bathroom.

SingaporeRooms are small and bathrooms super compact. There seems to be no difference in categories (I booked deluxe, but got the same two twin beds as all rooms have). Thin walls...can be noisy. On my second sojourn there was an issue with towel availability and hot water disappeared on second evening. Breakfast was strictly continental and fruit was available on only one of my visits to the first floor cafe. A/C seems only seasonally available. I was charged before arrival via a Dubai entity for the price of the room, thus paying the official less amenable official exchange rate. Just to let others know...not an unreasonable practice given that online bookings are "official" and thus subject to comissions etc.
Great location in a part of old Algiers where few hotels offer online booking. Cozy welcoming atmosphere in a "colonial era" building in the middle of everything old Algiers has to offer to a tourist. Accommodating staff. Wifi worked most of the time as did hot water. CNN and BBC available amongst dozens of Arabic language channels if that matters.

United KingdomBathroom needs updating. Breakfast is very basic commercial pastries (but Algerians don't do breakfast). I do recommend they have useful information for the visitors.
Great location, lovely building, comfortable room and helpful staff including a bit of English which is limited in this city.. Excellent value for the money.

NorwayBreakfast was only sugar. Pastry, cookies and sugary cereal. It's included, but not really a healthy start of your day. The rooms are small - the bathrooms exceptionally small - and the cleaning could be better. Especially the duvets and the bedsheets were stained. They might be recently washed, but there's something off-putting when you got stains and burn-marks on your bed.
Location is great - right on the Casbah and the pier. Short walk to Martyr's Square, Grand Mosque, Rais Palace and old Post Office. The subway take you further downtown should you not wish to walk, and the train even takes you all the way to the airport. The staff is friendly and helpful and the management is equally responsive and proficient in English.

GermanyIt was very loud when people talk in the corridor. Bed was almost too small for me (178cm). The bathroom could be cleaner and a chemical smell came out of it. A chair/table in the room would be nice. For the price I was satisfied.
The hotel is perfectly located. I changed to this place from an hotel close to the airport, as I wanted to be more close. Just across the street is a small supermarket. The city center and metro is in walking distance. Many small restaurants are close. Two Pharmacies around. The price was somehow a good deal. Room was spartan, a bed, a stool, nice balcony with view over the harbor. On 1st floor a cafe, where you can get 24/7 coffee, tee, water and limonade for free. This is where you could get your breakfast, which I never tried. Very friendly staff. They help you with any question with a smile. Wifi worked good enough on 4th floor. Thank you.
