Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe management staff is only onsite a few hours each day. It would be great to have a notice posted each day stating what the expected hours will be for the following day.
Beautiful property on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Gorgeous landscaping with multiple types of trees and flowers. Located very close to many wonderful snorkeling spots. Very clean pool.

United StatesIt took us a little time to find our unit. There wasn't shampoo provided.
Marazul provided everything we could have needed for our stay and more. Quiet, with friendly neighbors, and great access to the sights on the western side of the island. In a word, ideal.

United StatesThe room was very close to some of the most amazing beaches in the whole world. They had steps on the cliff that went straight to the ocean. We arrived late and the staff helped us get to our room with a self check-in.

United StatesOur particular unit does not appear to have been updated recently with some of the stuff being rusty; but it was clean and was sufficient for our needs.
The staff was accommodating. Rene made sure we had what we needed. The location is amazing ( quiet side of the island with an excellent view). We liked the location of the unit (7A) in regards to the pool, the view, the ease of getting in and out. The unit was sufficiently stocked with items to cook with, all of the appliances worked and linens were ample!

NetherlandsNothing!
Beautiful spot on the island, we enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, it is also super close to all the stunning beaches and views of Westpunt, there is also access to a communal pool too which was really lovely to use in the morning, there were also some iguanas strolling around and views of dolphins. There was aircon and a fan which helped with the heat, the kitchen was well equipped and great for some home cooking. Also there are some lovely local restaurants nearby. Shower was great too! Rene gave us perfect instructions prior to arrival, everything was clear and we were really grateful for the late check out, so thank you! Highly recommend Marazul!

CanadaUpstairs A/C was noisy and the outside screens need to be replaced to keep bugs out.
Great location to upper beach areas, number of restaurants in the vicinity. People on resort friendly, made up of a mix of short time vacationers and long time. Equipped with two individual stairs down to the ocean for great snorking and diving. The rental unit had full amenities to cooking, a big plus to making your own meals. Had a Weber charcoal barbecue, which made the food that much more taster.

CanadaThere are steep stairs up to the bedroom , fortunately, there are two bathrooms, both with showers. We opted to use the downstairs shower. A fan would be nice in the bedroom to avoid running AC. If you are looking for action and nightlife, this wouldn’t be the place. But for good water access in a quiet area of the island, it was great.
The “resort” is on he water with beautiful gardens and small pool. Quiet and excellent sunset viewing. Each unit is different (varying owners), but our unit (2F) was a one bedroom townhouse with a partial sea view. It had been renovated recently. The kitchen was complete (incl gas stove and new fridge), sofa comfortable with a “smart TV” (good sound). The AC worked well and the fan with open windows (screens) were fine most of the time. Nicely decorated, shelves to keep, things, drawers in the bedroom, drying rack on the patio, hanging area to dry wetsuits. Lots of good things. When we drove around the west-end, we didn’t see anywhere else more appealing.

BelgiumThe apartment isn't brand new and that shows, and it could have been cleaned a bit more thoroughly before our arrival (there were still crumbs under the oven, for example), but it was all acceptable. For this price at this location, we're not complaining. Just manage your expectations, and this is a very enjoyable place to stay! I would advise to bring earplugs if you like to sleep in just in case. The resort next door is doing construction, and they use the grinder every morning starting at 7:30. After that, they were just doing masonry for the rest of the day, so there was minimal noise. Obviously there's nothing that the owner can do about this, since it's not his crew. The only other noise complaint we had was that the gardener started mowing the weeds right at sunset 2 evenings in a row, which was kind of a bummer. However, after contacting Rene about it he put an immediate stop to it, so we were able to relax and enjoy the sunset, which is absolutely beautiful here!
This place is in a fantastic spot if you're looking to relax, enjoy a beautiful sunset, and do some great snorkeling/diving. We saw a turtle and schools of fish during our very first swim from the stairs at one end of the resort to the other, so amazing and right at our doorstep! It's also really close to Playa Grandi, where there are tons of turtles during the whole day (tip: go before 9am or after 4pm to avoid the crowds). There's iguanas roaming around the resort, which completes the experience of being in the Caribbean :-) Check-in was easy and convenient, since we got all the information we needed from René well in advance. The only remark I would give there would be to also communicate the price in Guilders in addition to USD, since it was very hard for us to find an ATM that would dispense USD on the island with our foreign card, and the payment needs to be done in cash. Luckily, we happened to have the exact amount with us. The apartment itself was spacious and had a very good bed. It has a shower right at the entrance, which is excellent when you're coming out of the water after a snorkel/dive. laundry facilities are shared, but a wash only takes 35 minutes, so there's never a long wait. You have a rack for drying on your own balcony. Each apartment has a charcoal BBQ, which we happily used. Just be sure to buy charcoal in advance, and some tins/foil to put over the rusty grill (rust is completely unavoidable this close to the sea).

PolandGreat place on the cliff. Typical for Curacao. Direct sea view. Direct access to the sea by small stairs. You can swim or snorkel immediately. Turqoise water. Property with several semi-detached houses. No crowd. No noise. Nice and quite. Well equipped house. Upper floor with master bedroom and bathroom. Extremely comfortable bed you may immerse in. Ground floor with open kitchen, bathroom and small living area. You can admire sunsets from balcony or terasse. Clean facility. Towels and bed linens changed every 5 days. Small pool available for all guests. Iguanas walking around the houses, tropical mocking birds singing in the mornings, humming birds and dragonflies dance around flower bushes - great contact with nature. Cactus cafe just behind the fence with simple but good local fish. Not a single shop in the surrounding, so a car is a must have. Rene, the manager will organize everything for you. Famous Grand Knip Beach in 1 km distance if walking through the short cut or 4 km distance if by car. We recommend beautiful, a bit undiscovered Santa Cruz beach - very local, not commercial, just great. Bring with you food, a bottle of wine and just relax! If you want to stay away from hordes of tourists - this place is for you.

SwitzerlandI am travelling with a backpack and public buses. When I first arrived to Westpunt I decided to come back to spend some nights there and this is why I looked for an apartment. Marazul had a very good price/value and good ratings. And it was the perfect choice! The view is amazing (I had an apartment in the first row). The facilities are super convenient (sun chairs, terrace etc.). I benefitted from the information and maps that were left in the apartment. Thus, I spent some very relaxing days in Westpunt. So the property is only a 8 minutes walk from the public bus station. It's a pity that Westpunt does not have any mini-market or somewhere else you can buy some food (otherwise I would have stayed longer and made use of the well-equipped kitchen). Thus, I had to eat out every single meal. The nearby Cactus Café is a good choice. It was very convenient that you can borrow snorkeling gear from Marazul (for 5$). However, please try it first, I unfortunately had a mask that did not fit very well and I only realized when I was at the wonderful Playa Kalki.
