Dinner could have been better on site.

Unbelievable amounts of wildlife in the daytime around the hotel. Trails to walk on throughout the day and night and a great river to walk along. Nice pools, many of them. Breakfast was really good.

The only put-off is the price. It feels like an American tourist trap where they charge you an obscene amount for food that is kinda crappy for that price. The most expensive food I’ve seen.

Beautiful Spanish inspired property. Nice walk paths and the river to sit at. Lovely big old trees.

Upscale lodge with the location close to NP Carara.

The staffs did not know that one could get ticket for NP Carara upon arrives with credit card only. The online reservation system was too confusing for a non Spanish speaking person. The lodge confirmed my booking initially for 3 nights but later forced me to change to 2 nights. This caused domino effect on my schedule. I have never had such thing happen with a reputable lodging before.

Location to NP Carara and staffs were nice and kind.

Great location for Carara National Park

The water wasn't hot, so we told a staff member. They immediately fixed it, but it would go freezing cold to scalding and required to constant adjusting and lots of caution while taking a shower. It was very frustrating. There was no refrigerator in the room. A big spider got into the room which I realize is part of Costa Rica, but only happened here of 4 places we stayed. The breakfast was ok. The breakfast host was feeding a Coati and then running it off repeatedly.

The location was great and the ground were beautiful. The room a/c was good. It was perfect for visiting Carara National Park. The front desk person hooked us up with an excellent guide at the park: Victor Mora Chaves +506 8723 3008. He did a phenomal job! We got to see Scarlet Macaws, Black and Green Poison Dart Frogs, 2 kinds of monkeys, and lots of other birds! There is a Scarlet Macaw nest just across the main road from the property.

Parking directly in front of our room. The birds can be seen everywhere. The sky walk tour(hanging bridges) offered by the hotel, it cost 18 dollars per person with a guide.

The hotel also offers a rainforest walkway and other amenities but all of these come at a considerable extra cost which was disappointing.

Good restaurant and very good buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. The location is good for visiting crocodiles in the nearby river Tarcoles. The rooms were large and the AC powerful. Rooms were clean and beds quite comfortable. The room amenities were adequate but this is not a luxury hotel.

Food at the hotel is not fantastic but when you follow the road a bit further up the hill, there is a great restaurant with amazing views across the whole coast. (5 min drive)

Hotel is located in a beautiful valley with lots of greenery, a river you can swim in and a very picturesque ‘colonial village’ The frog ponds next to reception attract tons of beautiful frogs in the evening. Nice pools, lovely grounds with lots of facilities like football table and poolside bar. Rooms are clean and spacious

It is a beautiful resort with many birds and a large garden, bridges, pool and restaurant. The staff are all very helpful and speaks some English. There is a unique bird (Royal Flycatcher) nested on the property. We also saw and hear Toucans and macaws. Overall, it is a very relaxed place for a family vacation.

The room was great for a short honeymoon, but needs maintenance. The power failed twice and the toilet had a reflux... The food was a bit on the colder side. The use of colorants for the desserts was all too much for me.

The service. The staff felt like a big family. The room was great for a short honeymoon, but needs maintenance. The hotel was not super new, but has a wonderful ambience with soul.

The rooms need a fresh coat of paint and some upgrading. Because of that I think it was hard to get the rooms to a good level of cleanliness. I was disappointed to see a staff member feeding a racoon, thus encouraging it to hang around the restaurant.

The location and grounds were wonderful. The gardens are beautiful and the pools are nice. The grounds were great for spotting birds and wildlife, and there are a lot of activities available through the hotel. The frog pond outside the restaurant was great!
