Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomYou order breakfast from a limited list of options. We asked to add one egg to avocado toast and the answer was: yes but you have to pay extra… we were not impressed! If you are taking the ferry I recommend you get there one hour or more if you haven’t booked it in advance. The hotel didn’t mention this and generally I found they weren’t really good to explain things about the hotel and help with practical advice (conditions of the roads with sedan to major routes such as from Monteverde and Quepos and advice on ferry/routes).
We picked this hotel for their sustainable credentials and we could see once there that they tried their best to follow a much more sustainable approach. The location is just unique and the views are stunning. We gad tent 14 and it was everything and more we could ask for. The room was really comfortable and the monkeys, lizards and racoons kept us entertained! I highly recommend the spa. The massage was great with views to go with it.

United StatesMy wife and I really enjoyed a relaxing vacation in Isla Chiquita. The staff is incredible. Daniela was amazing. She was very professional, friendly, caring, helpful, attentive. She really went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and had a great time. We had several personal issues that came up and she took care of whatever she could do to help us immediately and we really appreciate her for it. People like her are the heart of places like this and the reason I would consider returning and telling friends and family about this place. I hope she receives a nice bonus or raise for her excellence in hospitality. Javier was also very nice and helpful. Everyone we encountered including the restaurant staff excelled I'n hospitality. The food and drinks at the restaurant there were some of the best we've ever had. The seafood here is top notch. From the delicious red snapper to the amazing ceviche. We had something different there everyday and everything was so good. We enjoyed most days in the tent, deck or pool just relaxing feeling the breeze while admiring the water and forest that surrounded us. It was the perfect relaxing getaway.

Everything was tremendous. The staff including the Proprietor was exceptional. We caught the last Ferry and they had our dinner waiting for us as we got there after the kitchen was closed. That set the tone for a tremendous weekend!!!

United StatesOther guests were filling us into details and information for the stay. Also, some guests were told not to go on certain excursions at certain times but that information wasn't passed on to me. Otherwise, the stay was absolutely amazing!
The service staff was great! Irvin, Rafael and Rene went above and beyond. They were fun to chat with, extremely good at their jobs and kind. Alejandro and Christian did great jobs on all the tours. The room was amazing and it had such a beautiful view. Would highly recommend anyone to visit.

United KingdomYou do need to keep applying mosquito repellent as there are lots around. Dont even attempt the 1km jungle walk without it!
Really special rooms. We had one with a jacuzzi on the deck. Although this is a nice thing to have, the best thing about the tents with jacuzzis is that they are higher up and so have stunning views from the balcony

United StatesI can’t think of a single thing that needs improving.
The staff was the nicest and most accommodating we’ve met in Costa Rica, which is saying a lot because most people in CR are extremely friendly! The views were breathtaking, the glamping tents were luxury tents with everything you needed to be comfortable in a glamping environment. The bioluminescence tour was amazing and the complimentary kayaks, paddle boats and paddle boards provided hours of entertainment for our family. I would have stayed longer had we known how exquisite and unique our stay would be. It was my favorite stay in Costa Rica!

United StatesThere isn’t a beach to enjoy. Some of the grounds maintenance could use improving. I highly recommend setting your expectations for this stay—it is glamping, not a 5 star hotel. Unfortunately it seems a little overpriced for glamping but I imagine it must be expensive to run a place like this. My husband felt it was a little too quiet but I loved it for the quiet. I don’t think it’s a great place for children.
Beautiful island setting in the middle of the Gulf of Nicoya. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Our tent had a spectacular view and was perfectly well appointed for a glamping experience. Lots of wildlife on the property! Food was wonderful! The Bioluminescence boat tour with Nelson is a MUST!
