We booked an aparment 1month before the trip, hope we got good price with private kitchen. When we got there, we found that we had to share the kitchen and the bathroom with the another peple. This is not private at all. The only good thing was it closes to the subway. The sofa bed was not clean. On our trip to Scotland, we were staying at Holiday Inn Express in every town. They were very good. The last 3 days of our trip, we hope the apartment would be good option for us. We expect the cooking. Unfortunately, there were somebody next door that left the food and clothes on the kitchen so we only can stay there for 1 night and left the money!! We designed to go to Novotel London West which is nearby. When i checked the price we booked, it was much much cheaper than we did a month ago. The price is almost the same as Novotel we booked last minute.

The location is excellent - for everything that west London has to offer - shopping, museums, restaurants, nearby parks, walking, underground, etc. The person we spoke with was nice - allowed us to bag drop / checkin early afternoon. The flat is mostly clean and quite free of personal clutter: its plain, simple and appealing. This flat has room for two adults and (maybe) one child. Kitchen is small but functional. Wifi is functional - but its a hotspot, using the default password, so your system security needs to be on high. Dish washing liquid and Dettol were provided along with a rather worn out sponge.

Bathroom is a wet room but it is too small for that design. There's no shower curtain separating the shower spray from the toilet seat, counter, floor, sink, toilet roll, your towel, etc. There's no towel rail and no handrail in the shower either - someone could slip. The counter in the shower had broken grout where a service was done on the toilet but the sealant was not reapplied so it looked like it was about to fall off. It might have if pushed - I didn't dare check. Kitchen is functional but cutlery is loose in the drawer and it was clearly not well cleaned, making you want to wash everything before you use it. There were brown ants coming in so constant checking in any dry goods or juices on the counter. There was no dish cloths, dish rack, paper towels, hand towels, or trash containers. Outside the entry door there was a cardboard box full of recent styrofoam trash that stayed the whole time: there was nothing new in the flat, so that seemed like someone else's litter had been left there. Bed was itchy - maybe polyester/cotton sheets rather than cotton... don't know for sure. The sofa bed is in the bedroom... we were two so it didn't matter ... its a two person flat really.

The hotel was exceptional! We loved the location, amenities, beautifully decorated and comfortable rooms. The attention and care by the hotel staff was by far the best we have experienced. We would highly recommend and look forward to returning to stay at this hotel!

Covers on the silver service used during breakfast were prone to slamming. In my review directly to the Grand they appreciated this observation and that they intend to address it. Much appreciated.

We had to switch rooms because the shower was only hot water. Something must have been broken. Staff had to actually check and then go to another room to test the shower. You could hear the people walking above. Next time I’ll book top floor. Doors don’t stay open long for people in wheelchairs.

The front desk manager on April 27, 28 was scattered and a bit dismissive to my adult daughter and me. I've stayed at the Rookery many, many night over the last 5 years and always enjoyed the staff. So I wanted to let you know there is something that needs checking.
