The roosters are a pain but tolerable. Thankfully for all I didn’t bring a gun.😀

Ignore any negative reviews. The place is great and Matthias and Riki the most helpful, hospitable hosts you could want to meet. Some of the facilities are basic (outdoor shower/toilet) and won’t suit everyone but if you can cope with that you will have the best time ever. This place is paradise and you will not want to leave. I know that we (my partner and I) don’t. We will be back again for sure. Highly recommend to people just wanting to have fun. The snorkelling is the best part (I had never done this until I came here). Take the lagoon tour if you can - this was the highlight of our stay.

There are budget accommodations and then there are BUDGET ones. The entire property was run down. The room had only a rusty fan, plenty of ants and mosquitos, and bad water. There were holes in the sheets and the kitchen consisted of a camp stove. We reserved the room for 7 days and left after 3 day but still had to pay the full amount.

It was near the beach but the place had broken chairs and old furnishings. The bikes they advertised we not in working conditions.

The images do not reflect the accommodation offered. The Beach Hut is not fit for purpose. It is very basic, is far below the “rustic” description and is over priced for poor accommodation.

The location was the only positive with this accommodation

Accomodation a bit primitive with external toilet about 40 M from unit. However if I had been 30 years younger perhaps I would have been better adapted to property.

Very close to beach, helpful host Mathias, excellent sunsets and great location half way between Airport and Township. Mathias offers boat excursions snorkelling and lagoon exploration trips. Great local knowledge

Accommodation was backpackers so basic which was fine - but the bed was very soft.

The location was fantastic and the use of bikes and scooters on site was a bonus. The host was very informative and took us on an amazing lagoon cruise - the highlight of our trip!

Conditions were not up to expectations. No toilet (we did know that) but nowhere to wash your hands by the toilets. No hot water over the sink. One night we had no water at all until morning. No hand basin in the beach hut so nowhere to clean your teeth. Small space to move around in. A check to see that the gas was on and the fridge plugged in before we came would have helped.

Location lovely, a considerate host. Beach hut beds were clean and plenty of towels provided.

Lack of water in the shower, but I understand about water conservation. Push bikes were free to use, which we successfully did. But, they really do need new push bikes.

Lovely beach right there! Nice deck with loads of shade. The huts are very basic/rustic but have what you need, including an essential fan! Very clean toilet block. Matthias and Riki are friendly and helpful. Wonderful day on the water with Matthias, who is knowledgeable, passionate and cares deeply for the environment. Snorkelled outside the reef, as well as inside. Saw and swam with turtles, eagle rays, giant trevally, giant clams, tropical fish, along with the usual lagoon tour seeing coral etc. We also stopped at a couple of different islands to see bird life which was very interesting. Delicious lunch provided.

The hut is quite basic, but could have been cozy if it (and the shower outside) was more properly cleaned. I was also sharing the space with some cockroaches and a giant spider. The property is located a little away from the main road and is very dark at night, so bring a flashlight.

Good location for swimming and snorkeling, and 5-10 minutes by bike (free though a little rusty) to shops. The shared toilets were clean. Quiet at night (at least until the roosters woke up).

Unfortunately it was raining when we were there, and showers are cold if no sun (on solar). This should be stated on website. Accommodation only suitable when weather fine. Place really needs a bit more love, and could be amazing.

The location is perfect, love the little hut idea and was great to have bikes and paddle boards available. Matthias was helpful with information.

I had a wonderful time at Matriki Beach Huts. Riki and Matt were warm and friendly hosts who greeted me by name, were happy to help and made lots of great suggestions for my stay. The location is unbeatable, being right on the beach. The huts are great value for money and while they’re not super fancy, everything is clean and tidy with lovely touches like fresh fruit, flowers. I was comfortable with everything I needed. Their three cats are super friendly. The snorkelling from the beach is fantastic.
