Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandMy partner and I recently stayed at Kura’s kabanas, and we managed to book a couple of days out from arriving, for the whole duration of our stay (10 days). The location is stunning, and the hosts match the scenery. Ata and Chris were so accomodating, and made us feel like we were at home. It’s so close to everything, great eateries within walking distance, In saying that, the whole island has so much to offer. But we were so happy spending our time at the kabanas. We were offered fresh fruit from the back yard, and they had kayaks and gear to use for free, so you could enjoy the lagoon that was on the front doorstep. After a full on day of travelling around the island, it was nice to come back to our room, and feel like we could rest peacefully with the sound of the waves crashing in the distance. Pure bliss. With this being our first trip together as a couple, I’m so grateful that Chris and Ata went above and beyond for us. Even offering to drop our bags to the airport, and giving us a lift on our way out. The only thing we didn’t like, is that we didn’t get to stay longer. You guys made our trip a very special and memorable one, and we are forever grateful! If you ever get a chance to travel to the Cook Islands, please be sure to book at kura’s kabanas.

United KingdomNeeds a little updating, BBQ is broken but usable and is a little dated, but was great value for money. Bed very uncomfortable and was cold overnight, no blankets etc.
Lovely hosts and freindly cleaners. Beautiful surroundings and location. Great value for money, especially for the location and large spacious, private kabanas. Lovely BBQ area and use of kayaks, snorkels, reef shoes, life jackets was great!

New ZealandIt is not the accommodation's fault at all but some young people staying in the neighbourhood were partying hard sometime so highly recommend to bring ear plugs.
We stayed 11 nights at Kura's Kabana and absolutely loved everything! The Bangalore is but outdated but the cleaner ladies (especially the older lady was owesome!) did lovely job everyday, also the new owners are replacing furnitures slowly, we had a brandnew bed and was so comfortable. Location was wonderful to us, can't ask any better really. 2 of our favourite cafes (LBV and Mooring), Muri night market, Te Vara Nui and all lovely resorts for happy hours are all walking distance (less than 10min) and price was unbeatable for the location. Thank you so much again Ata, Chris and lovely kids of yours, we definitely will stay with you again!

New ZealandThe knife was quite blunt but it did the job. No washing machine/ towel drying rack available. We dried things on coat hangers and on the deck easily.
We loved the location as it is close to the smaller islands with great snorkelling, the dive shop, the gardens, local stores, the ebike and scooter hire shop, the night market and a bakery. Great location!!! We loved the kabana with nice deck and a great little kitchen with everything you need. They had pots and pans, a chopping board, knife, microwave, plunger, gas oven, good size fridge freezer. Good water pressure with hot water. 2 fans. Supplied snorkelling gear and kayaks! Love the supplied blanket and beach towels with daily room service. The owners were so friendly and welcoming! They shared fresh fruits with us and fresh fish caught that day 😀 You don't have to buy wifi specific for Kuras Kabanas. Just log into the local area hotspot.

New ZealandThe location was fantastic, the units had good beds, fridge/freezer, microwave, gas stove top, tea, coffee and sugar. There was a fan for comfort. BBQ facilities with outdoor dining furniture over the patio. There were kayaks (two tandem) and canoes for use, with life jackets and an assortment of snorkel gear. The hosts were lovely, the key was in the door for our late arrival and milk in the fridge. They brought us some fresh local fruit one the first day which was amazing and the rooms were serviced daily. The hosts checked in on you to make sure you were okay and didn't need anything.

New ZealandNothing really. If I need to nit-pick anything, I would like a ceiling fan as we had pretty warm/humid nights. We didn't ask for a fan though, and a stand-alone fan might have been available.
It's a beautiful location with a nice garden area that brings you to the lagoon. The host is very friendly and immediate with any support you need. All village shops/restaurants are accessible by foot. I will go back to this place.
