Room was a bit dark as the window was small, two power outlets didn’t work.

Friendly and very flexible staff. Comfortable. While it’s not a luxury accommodation, it has everything that’s needed and it’s clean.

NOT MUCH SUPPORT OUTSIDE OF MEALS- SEE ABOVE EXPLANATION

THE ROOM WAS A NEW ADD-ON TO AN OLD BUILDING. THE ROOM WAS NICE, SPACY, WELL EQUIPPED, LIGHT AND HAD A BALCONY WITH A GREAT VIEW OF THE LAKE. THERE IS CAR PARK OPPOSITE BUT THAT DOES NOT PROVOKE NOISE. AIR CON IS AVAILABLE AND EFFICIENT (AND NECESSARY DURING MY STAY). ACCESS TO THE ROOM IS VIA VERY STEEP AND AWKWARD STEPS, NOT GOOD FOR PEOPLE WITH BALANCE DIFFICULTY. BREAKFAST IS INCLUDED AND SERVED IN A LOVELY COURTYARD WITH VINES FOR COVER (REAL GRAPES!!). PERSONNEL IS COMPETENT AND AGREABLE (DURING MEALS) OTHERWISE DIFFICULT TO FIND!! SO CHECK IN AND CHECKOUT MEANS FINDING THEM. ALL VERY PLEASANT AND ROMANTIC, BUT EXPENSIVE, ESPECIALLY MEALS.

The location in town on the lake is amazing. You are literally above the restaurant but the rooms are quiet. Small rooms and small staircase to get there but the view and location is worth it.

I would have loved to have a toilet in my room. However, since it was right next door, it wasn't an issue. Overall, I was very happy with everything else.

My stay at Ristorante degli Angioli was fantastic. First, I had a warm welcome from the host, Sandy, upon booking my reservation. I was traveling alone, so she offered to pick me up from the train station in Locarno, which was so nice. I don't speak Italian, but it didn't matter, because Sandy and the rest of the staff were very accommodating in communicating in any languages (including some in English) and we made things work. My room was very comfortable and quiet. It had a private shower but no private toilet. However, the toilet was right next door to my room, so it really wasn't an issue. The breakfast was very good. The location of the hotel is fantastic, right on the waterfront with amazing views. The Stella restaurant was also fantastic. I was there over Easter and they restaurant was open continuously serving a special menu and also from the regular menu. I would definitely return.

Saturday night was noisy because we were right above the restaurant on the street side. We didn't know how to close the shutters and there are not blackout curtains, so there was a lot of light from the street that made it hard to sleep. Monday was quieter and we figured out the shutters so it was reasonably darker and we slept better.

It was a great location and a very interesting old building. The staff were kind and helpful even though we spoke Spanish and not Italian. The breakfast was fantastic and they provided a bag for me to take since I left early on the second morning.

Very good location beside the lake and the old town. We felt the beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. The restaurant on site has unique atmosphere and food was very tasty. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Great location, balcony on the front in ascona, lovely lake view over the children's playground area. very comfortable, lovely breakfast, easy access to the best of Ascona. Historic building, interesting architecture, lovely terrace for breakfast

The Position right at the seafront, close to the promenade. Rooms are OK and clean, good value

It was a lot of steep stair cases which definitely gave it character and beauty but it also made it very difficult for luggage/accessibility purposes.

The staff was so friendly and kind. I needed help with my bags and they had someone assist me immediately. They held my bags for me when I was checking out, they gave me breakfast and extra coffee, before it was even being served because I was up early and were just overall, lovely.
