We found this hotel from Booking.com as usual and chose this hotel according to the location and the room specifications as well as previous reviews. Two nights of our stay in this hotel was quite impressive and there were nothing unsatisfactory at all. Room’s size is fine, bathroom is well equipped, and bed is comfortable. Our room had balcony with mountain and town view. The afternoon tea and coffee for all guests was a value added. Receptionists and other staff were helpful and flexible to guest’s requests. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this hotel very much.

The location is excellent as it is a stone’s throw away from the train station. Having tea break snacks between 4pm to 5.30pn daily was a bonus.

Its location is the main reason for our booking. It is less than 5 minutes from the train station. It is set back from the busy street and is quiet. The view of the mountains on the third floor is limited. The balcony is nice for fresh air. The towels were white, soft and thick. The bed is comfortable. The tub is very clean with fresh shower curtain. Breakfast is good with gourmet coffee and organic tea.

Our room was mucked up, and they had a cot in their instead of a bed for our 8 year old. I had originally booked incorrectly for a 1 year old, but got in touch to advise of my error and they said there would be no issues. Trying to arrange a bed for said 8 year old proved difficult. At first we just asked for another cot mattress to put together on the floor with the other one, but this didn't seem to work for them. Then we asked for just a normal mattress on the floor, but they advised they would need to check with their manager the next day (not sure what we were meant to do that night). They then suggested we look at another room, which we did, very nice, 2 bedroom, one with a sofa bed. We thanked them for their suggestion, but then they wanted to charge us extra, which i refused due to them previously acknowledging our 8 year old and saying all was ok.... The lady seemed to be in a huff and said "ok fine then" in a very grumpy voice and plonked the keys on the counter. The sofa wasn't made up whilst we were at dinner, and we asked for it, were provided with incorrect linen, ie a single bed sheet for the double sofa.

The room and breakfast were great. We also enjoyed the afternoon tea and the sauna. Great location to everything you'd need in town and only a short walk from the station. All but one staff member were very attentive, and wonderful.

A minor complaint, but we found the common areas ie. reception/dining room etc VERY warm. It wasn't a problem really, we just took off a layer!!

We had a great stay at Hotel Butterfly. It was a block off the main road and about a 5 minute walk to train station at most. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were super friendly and helpful. They even packed us a lunch when we had to leave out early before breakfast on our departure day.

We paid for a family suite to have extra room floor space and a third twin to place our bags. When we checked in and went to room not a family suite. I went back to front desk asked about the family suite. They said they moved our room because there were only 2 of us not 3. We had paid more to have a family suite . Front desk lady not nice or accommodating. We felt a bit cheated with the smaller room space after paying for the family suite.

Really in the city center. Close to the central train station and Gornergrat train station. Breakfast are really sorted and good quality. Very well presented. Prompt service. Rooms big, nice and not noisy. Sauna service included in the price. Tea time service also included for free every afternoon. Restaurant service really good.
