How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Very close to the Ferry and walking distance to restaurants. The property was clean and comfortable.

The property is in the perfect location in the middle of town. The AC was wonderful. The rooms are on the smaller side, but perfectly functional. This place has everything you need and is perfectly budget friendly. We loved it.

When we arrived the power and water were out but that was not the hotel’s fault, it was country wide. We also did not expect the staff to only be there from 9-5pm but there was a security guard at night which made us feel safer.
We chose this hotel because it is a 2 minute walk to the ferry port and it was right next to the water. It was so convenient to be able to walk everywhere and the staff were all very kind and helpful.

There was nothing to not like. The price was right and the hotel is situated in heart of San Pedro so nothing is too far away. The hotel staff did their best to accommodate us in every request we had. They have a coffee machine and iron if you need it by request.
The staff was friendly and kept the hotel really clean. Beds were very comfortable and sheets were changed daily. All of our requests and questions were answered in timely manner. Chefy is a GREAT HOST!

Nothing stands out as a negative.
Clean and comfortable hotel very near to the water. The air conditioner and WiFi worked well and consistently. You're really in the center of everything here with easy access to restaurants and beach strolls.

Just ton advise: Very noisy at night but not the fault at all of the hotel. Really central located in San Pedro and the town is noisy : live music bars at night, dogs..people getting back from party. If looking for a place to have rest, not stay downtown !
Location dowtown is really great. Place very well kept. Good value for money in Ambergris.

Only downside is that they do not give you any sort of beach towel
This place was amazing to stay at! The rooms are small but very cozy and clean. The beds are comfy and the bathrooms are very nice. Also, the owner Chefy is fabulous! So friendly and gets back to your texts/calls instantly if you need anything at all. We heard such great things about him through talking to locals too, he is a wonderful host!

Casa de Paz was the perfect choice for my stay in Belize. Centrally located, great price, very comfortable and secure. It’s a smaller building than the major hotels, which means I got extra attention and all of my needs were met. I will absolutely stay again.

The windows do not fully close, so sometimes it can be noisy from the main street.
Centrally located hotel, 50 meters away from the Sprinter taxi pier, 200m from the central park, and less than a kilometer from the airport.

Being in the heart of the city means noise from nearby music, taxi drivers, dogs, and other guests in common areas. The windows are slatted, which allows sound in, despite the blackout curtains.
Amazing location. Dozens of restaurants, stores, and the water taxi all within walking distance. We only needed a golf cart for one day to visit Secret Beach. The Wi-Fi and A/C both worked well. The property is very clean and recently renovated. We'd absolutely stay here again!

The noise level on the street was a bit much, especially one night when a celebration with a loud band was playing right across the street until 3:00 a.m.! Also, there was a dog right next door that barked at all hours of the day and night. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay. My room was on the second floor, so there were stairs to climb, but that was OK.
The staff were the best--very personable, helpful, kind, and friendly. They provided extras that I requested, including a chair and filtered water. The hotel was half a block from the beach! Easy to get to restaurants and the beach itself! Grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, and an ice cream parlor were all just a few steps away. The room was very clean, the bed and pillows were comfortable, the bathroom featured new fixtures and flooring, and there was handy storage for clothes, luggage and toiletries. The TV had YouTube videos, which I enjoy. There was remote-controlled mini-split air conditioning, plenty of light and free Wi-Fi. Overall, a comfortable stay.
