Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesPrices were high for al a carte amenities. It was hard to get into town and expensive to use the cab drivers lined up by Ka'ana, but the lack of between meal snacks and sodas/juices meant we had to look elsewhere.
The property was great, the grounds were well kept, and the bar area was open and fun. Staff was nice and went beyond normal service at a resort.

United StatesMore and better furniture by the pool.
This property isn't one of the fancier jungle lodges but its proximity to the jungle adventures, ruins and San Ignacio are truly great. It's a small, relaxed place, but there is still a feeling of it being in the jungle despite it not being. The rooms are extremely spacious, well done and clean, as is the entire property. The beds and pillows are huge and very comfortable. We arranged massages and they were great. The pool is not the greatest, mostly because it doesn't have many chairs or the nicest furniture, but it's certainly an adequate one. The main 'house' has indoor/outdoor seating with a lovely deck and adjacent indoor bar. The staff was absolutely a joy. Julio at the front desk along with the others was extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful. And the food, drinks and wine...totally unexpected fresh, flavorful and creative. It was a 9+.

United KingdomFood and drink is expensive especially as you are some way out of the town and there’s no alternative. The food wasn’t great. A shuttle to the town is $15 US and unlike other hotels in Belize the hotel doesn’t offer any complementary shuttles through the day. The staff were great but clearly had instructions to up-sell food, drink, tours
Ka’ana was very clean. Room was functional staff at tentative. Lovely gardens. Close to some good sites for trips.

United StatesThe only downside is bugs getting into the room, but it is surrounded by the elements so I understand this is beyond the control of the property.

United StatesThere were quite a few bugs that snuck into our room including a big spider but I think thats par for the course in Belize
This hotel is very unique in that someone is available at all times through texting on whatsapp. It felt like your own private concierge as they arranged anything and everything and were super quick to respond. Every single tour, transportation, room service request is all made through the hotel and can be made through texting making it extremely easy! The food at this resort is incredible. Both nights we dined at the restaurant had special theme nights including “bbq night” and “mayan night” which we really enjoyed. It’s also unique because its pretty small so we didn’t see or hear others often making our stay feel very private and peaceful. Tours and things purchased at and through the hotel are pricey but of great value. All tours and transportation are private and comfortable. You definitely spend some extra money for convenience which we value.

United Statesif you don’t have a car, the tours are the reason for being there as you are not really within walking distance of the town.
The resort is in a beautiful setting with nice buildings and pool. The on-site restaurant is wonderful and prices are very reasonable. Private tours (“adventures”) are offered by the resort; we were there two days and took the San Ignesio market/Cabal Pech ruins/iguana rescue/chocolate making one and the Tikal ruins in Guatemala one. Both were excellent.

AustraliaThe included breakfast could've included more. The one thing was the 9% GST and 10% service charge that's added to everything. Meals, drinks and even the massage. So be aware when you're staying here that everything comes with an added 19%.
The people who work here are amazing, so friendly and so helpful!! The room was really clean, comfortable and big. The bar served great cocktails and the restaurant food was great!! Special thanks for Lorreta and the chef for the birthday cake! Legends

United StatesOur shower really needed a renovation. The lever was loose and water pressure was very low. Took a few minutes to get warm.
Beautiful, lush, boutique property. #1 was the staff. Everyone was so kind, funny, and helpful. The grounds were so green. The pool area was calm & had a great view. Food at the restaurant and bar was very good. I’m vegan and they were able to accommodate my food needs including plant based milks and beans made with coconut oil instead of lard. The tortilla and black bean soup were delicious! We did 2 tours through the hotel. They were both private and 100% worth it. Only a little more expensive than group tours. Highly recommend the ruins and cave tubing and zip line.
