Chabil Mar was absolutely perfect in every way. Our suite was beautiful and spotless. The staff has helpful and friendly without being intrusive. The location convenient to town but just far enough to be peaceful! Special shout out to our shuttle driver Latchco who went above and beyond. Just an FYI, the beaches in Palencia are not white Sandy Crystal Clearwaters. They are suitable for swimming, but just so that you know that upfront. However if you love snorkeling, there are some amazing snorkel tours and one of the best reefs I’ve seen in a long time.

Internet was a little slow especially when everyone is trying to connect.

The staff is great and welcoming. They have gone out of their way to meet our needs. The food is great. They arrange other tours that may be cheaper than you can find on internet. They also follow up with the tour operators even if you didn't book through them.

No walk in swimming despite a beautiful beach.

Beautiful property and pools. Lived jumping off the dock. Good food delivered quickly throughout the property. Only down side is that you can’t walk into the water to swim. It’s lined with rocks. Other places in Placencia have walk in swimming. It didn’t bother us at all but if you have little kids you might want some place with a walk in beach.

Everything seemed a bit pricey. We were thinking Belize would be a more economical trip. But drinks and food at the hotel were pricey.

It was beautiful. Nice private villas. Beautiful beach, close to town and a shuttle really anytime you wanted it.

The wifi was not reliable in our room.

We found the resort to be very comfortable and convenient. The shuttle into the village worked out perfectly for getting out for dinner. The staff was able to book two great tours for us - snorkeling at Laughing Bird Caye and a Monkey River Tour.

That I had to leave!

The people were amazing! I have been a frequent guest at a small boutique hotel in Mexico. This resort experience was beyond my expectations. I will definitely recommend this property as a great, safe and relaxing place to vacation.

Two King size beds (instead of one queen size) would be more comfortable.

Everything, the two pools, our room, the service, the beach, location near to the village and of course the welcome drinks. Excellent for our family stay.

From the moment we were picked up at the airport, we experienced nothing but phenomenal service and attention at Chabil Mar. The accommodations were perfect, sparking clean and spacious. The on-site food service was amazing and delicious. The staff were genuinely nice and so helpful. The grounds were immaculate and we took advantage of the pool, kayaking and even booked an awesome tour through the concierge. We did not want to leave! We got engaged on this trip and are considering getting married at Chabil Mar next summer! I’d give this place 20 stars if possible! We look forward to visiting again!

The TV did not have Netflix. You had to go to the front office and get a USB drive and select movies from a list, have them downloaded, and then plug the usb up in your room. The USB only worked in the living room and we were unable to watch the movies in the bedroom. The power kept going off. They ran out of golf carts and thus we only were able to secure one for our last day/night.

We loved everything about the resort!

Goregous resort, beautifully appointed villas, friendly and accommodating staff. We felt very pampered and the views from every villa were wonderful. Also loved Placencia - we have stayed at Ambergris Caye and checked out Hopkins but glad we chose Placencia. Small quiet town/village with lots of character but still plenty of activity. San Pedro felt run down by comparison.
