Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe are not necessarily beach enthusiasts, but when we checked out the nearby public access beach (5 minutes away on foot), there were mounds of seaweed / kelp that had washed up and were starting to stink up the beach. Locals told us that this happens every year and that the beach is usually cleaned up, so it was probably just our luck that we were there before it was cleared away. This reflects nothing on the hotel property itself, but this information might be useful for those envisioning a beach vacation.
The lady at check-in, who owns and runs the place, was very friendly and helpful. She offers lots of helpful tips and information about restaurants, beach access, stores, taxi driver contact numbers, ferry schedules - you name it! We received lots of information even before our arrival, which really helped us plan our trip. The room we stayed in (Room 8, which I think is called the Jungle Room?) was wonderful! As soon as we stepped in, we felt we were at home. We appreciated the little details and the murals on the wall. Having a kitchenette was great, especially since we wanted to have some local fruit from the nearby fruit stall. You can get a 20-liter (?) container of water at reception for 3 USD, which was great since we did not have a car, and it would have been a hassle to lug so much water back to the hotel from the shop - and trust me, you need a lot of water to stay hydrated in the heat here! The bedroom area was a separate room, which made us feel more like we were in an apartment and not in a hotel room. Internet connection was great, and I was able to get some work done remotely while there. The location worked great for us as we weren't looking to party on this trip, so we purposefully chose a place far from all the action in the center of town, but we did walk into town to catch a flight to Caye Caulker, and that took about 30 minutes. It was almost 40 degrees Celsius when we were there, so the walk was not all that pleasant, but it is doable - just not when the sun is directly above you, like it was on our way back. All in all, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy place in a quiet location. We both agree that we would come back to this place if we ever find ourselves in San Pedro again!

United KingdomShame the shower had no space to put toiletries. Was quite far from the central area which meant a 40minute walk or taxi whenever we wanted to socialise/for food.
The suite was exactly what we needed. The AC worked very well and was very welcome. Jose was very helpful. We received lots of useful information prior to arrival.

CanadaIt is a bit outside of town so if you plan on needing to go into town often, would suggest renting a golf cart. It didn't matter to us since we were diving with a shop close by.
Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Great value for money. Lots of great food options nearby, and only a short ride into town (or a 30 min walk). We stayed at another place in San Pedro for almost triple the price before coming to Belize Budget Suites and wish we had just stayed here for our entire trip.

It’s a very clean lovely apartment equipped with almost everything you need. The only things they could have is oil in the kitchen, but other than that it was exceptional. The staff is super helpful and it’s located in a very quiet street away from all loud traffic. We loved it 😊

A small hotel with a big heart! Our group had two adjoining rooms with two living spaces & two kitchens. It was perfect for our needs. Lots of space. AC's worked great. Nice neighborhood not far from town, but far enough away for quiet. Jose & Miriam were the highlight of our trip! They greeted us each day with a smile. Jose was so helpful in recommending specific tour operators that were exceptional. We felt like family. The residents of San Pedro/Ambergris Caye are so kind & friendly!

GermanyThe staff was nice but recommended us an overpriced snorkel tour which was not worth the money. Also for renting a golf cart same. It would have been nice to get a pick up from the ferry as an easy start and service.
It was a nice stay, calm area. The staff was very friendly and supportive for our activities. The room was great, colorful and comfy. The kitchen had everything we needed.

DenmarkThe water pressure in the shower could be a little stronger. The walls are maybe a bit thin, but the overall location is very quiet, so no big deal.
Functional and clean room, in convenient location, just 10 minutes away from San Pedro town using a golf cart (and the town seems quite noise, would not want to stay right in the center). Price/value ratio is very good and staff if very helpful. AirCon works really great (which is quite key in the humid and warm weather of Belize in March). I would recommend it!

MexicoIt is quiet.. a little outside of town. Love the colors.
The staff is absolutely amazing. They will bend over backwards to make sure that you are happy and content and well taken care of. Jose is absolutely adorable and his wife is very helpful as well although we didn’t get to know her as well. I’m sure she was doing all the work behind-the-scenes. Please tell Jose and the gang we said hello when you go to visit

United StatesNothing could have been better.
This place is the best value you will find in all of San Pedro. The rooms are updated and finished very nicely. The coffee is amazing and the hosts were very nice and accommodating. The beds were comfortable, including the fold out futon. The sheets were soft and the shower is just amazing. Tons of hot water and soaps were provided. It is just a 1/2 mile south of the action in San Pedro/Amberguis Cay. If it were located in the middle of the bar/restaurant scene the price would be double what they charge at least. Tucked 1 block into a neighborhood with a very large lot and beautiful plants and trees you will wake to the sounds of mother nature. If I ever go back to San Pedro I will look to book this property. If you are on the fence, don't waste anymore time and book this place!

United StatesWe really liked the unique style and theme of each room and appreciated the room’s amenities (coffee machine, microwave, all kitchen essentials, hot showers, AC). Nani and Jose were very friendly and gave us great recommendations for dinner, cab companies, and dive shops. We tried most of their recommendations and had a fabulous time! The grounds were also well kept and I wish we had had more time to sit outside with a cup of coffee and birdwatch. Overall, a wonderful stay and we hope to be back soon!
