Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelarusCan't think of any cons...maybe just that the cafe at their kitchen wasn't opened yet, but as the receptionist said, they'll be open again soon.
Great location, amazing staff, very comfortable and fresh beds, everything is clean and easy to use, the whole bathroom room is at your personal use instead of public ones, there's a very cute lobby and dining room. Overall, very nice hostel for this money, european quality.

JapanNoise, it is not a problem of the hostel but guests were unfriendly and lack of commonsense, they at midnight speaking loudly ,turn on the phone. You need walk almost one hour to get there from central bus terminal .
They have sufficient facility as hostel, Heaps of showers and toilets,24hour front desk, lounge, kitchen, storage space under the bed.

United StatesThis is a large property, multiple floors. There are no tourists, so I understand property doing what they need to make a buck. What that translates to currently is a human warehouse for people hoping to get into EU including families with kids. These are not your "normal" hostel travelers (one would not expect that now), and this crowd loiters at hostel all day seemingly with nothing else to do. During my stay, I found this crowd unruly, loud, and dirty. At one point I returned to my room to find the door open and Kentucky Fried Chicken bags and discarded food strewn on beds and the floor even though at that point there were only two people assigned to the 8-person room and I'd met the other guy. Some other folks felt like having a party in my room. Woman at reception when I told her thought it was funny. My entire stay I was concerned my stuff would be stolen. I double locked my bag inside of their locker, and I was still worried someone would break through the wood or unscrew the Philips screws weakly holding the locking bracket. Not hard to do. I most certainly left nothing on my bed, not even a USB cable. I am grateful I didn't get robbed. When I returned to Minsk, I did not return to this property. I stayed elsewhere, a smaller place more in control of what's going on. I was much happier in a better-secured environment.
Well, I got a bed. Cleaning staff works nonstop (though they can't seem to keep up with the mess).

Russia1. Wooden floor in the bedrooms — is just a really bad idea. There is no way to walk quietly in the room, unless you are a ninja. 2. There is no way to quietly open/close the bedroom door either. Party because of the mechanism, which couldn’t be done differently, but also because of the door’s alignment, which can be done differently. In other words, handle the ear plugs along with the key ;) 3. And the greatest turn-off: long-stayers (people, who literally live in the hostel). Just a tip: if you desperately need revenue and cannot say no to long-stay completely — never mix short- and long-term guests. Otherwise it all turns into ‘kommunalka’, which has fairly bad reputation. Mess, smell and weirdo asking you to lend him $9 until tomorrow — should all happen away from ordinary tourists’ eyes. Room 2F. 4. Bathrooms should be cleaned the most often possible. It is a must.
Staff was really friendly and welcoming, they really tried hard designing the space and almost succeeded. All in a very peaceful and sweet neighbourhood. Soft mattress, good water pressure, bathroom was not clogged, large choices of amenities. Not to devalue — comparing to 90% of post-soviet hostels — you have done damn well ☝️👌
